iOS 18 – Apple’s Urgent Alert!

Hi everyone, Aaron here for Zolot, and this past week has been exceptionally busy with the release of iOS 18 beta 3 and iOS 17.6 beta 3. There’s so much to discuss, especially with the new features and the overall experience of iOS 18 beta 3. We’ll also dive into your comments about these updates and touch on a very serious issue affecting some iOS users that we’ll get into a little later. But first, let’s explore some exciting Apple news.

Delta Game Emulator News

The Delta game emulator, which was released some time ago for the iPhone, has now been made available on the iPad as of July 11th. However, it’s currently only accessible through the alternate App Store. We’re still waiting for official approval in the United States for the Delta game emulator to be iPad native, supporting full-screen iPad apps, multiple windows via Stage Manager, and handoff between iPhone and iPad. Hopefully, this version will be available soon outside third-party app stores, but if you’re in the know, you can use it right away.

Google Photos Transition

If you’ve been using Google Photos and are considering switching to Apple Photos, Amazon Photos, or another service, Google has made it easier to download all your photos and videos. On their website, you can now copy your photos and videos to an external service. After signing in, you can download all your data and save it wherever you like. This is particularly useful if you want to back up your media elsewhere or save it locally on your device.

Apple Vision Pro Expansion

Apple Vision Pro is now launching outside the United States. It’s currently available in Canada and other countries around the world. In an interview with The Sun, Tim Cook mentioned that he uses Vision Pro daily, praising its ability to transform any environment into a personal theater with a 100-foot screen. While it offers an incredible entertainment experience, it also has its downsides, such as difficulty in sharing the experience with family. Nevertheless, it’s a groundbreaking product for media consumption.

Apple Watch for Kids

Apple is actively promoting the Apple Watch on a new website, highlighting its benefits for kids. It’s an excellent tool for calling kids, tracking their location, and managing their activities from an iPhone. The new site showcases features like School Time, which disables certain functions during school hours, and Find My, which helps parents locate their children. There are also various customization options for themes, wallpapers, and bands, making it appealing for kids. Rumors suggest that Apple might be working on a plastic version of the Apple Watch, potentially releasing updates in September.

Google Maps Update

This week, Google Maps received a notable update, adding a live speedometer. This feature is now available not only on the iPhone but also in CarPlay. It’s a handy addition for users who rely on Maps for directions and want to monitor their speed in real-time.

Vision Pro and Vision OS 2.0

Apple’s Vision Pro currently has a few betas available, but Vision OS 2.0 will only be accessible to developers. It won’t be released as a public beta, which is disappointing for many users. Despite the high price tag of $3,500 or more, most Vision Pro owners will likely sign up for the developer beta to try out the latest features. Vision OS 2.0 is significantly better than previous versions, with improved latency and overall performance, particularly when used with a Mac.

iOS 18 Beta 3 New Features

In a recent video, I covered 20+ new features in iOS 18 beta 3, but there’s one more thing worth mentioning. According to AaronP613 on Twitter (or X), beta 3 introduces permissions for MDM (Mobile Device Management) to limit access to AI features and iPhone mirroring. This will be beneficial for those managing multiple devices.

Apple Intelligence and Siri 2.0

We’re eagerly awaiting Apple Intelligence, which is expected to debut with the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. It promises a range of helpful features. Although it’s already present in the emulator, it hasn’t been enabled yet. Siri 2.0 is another anticipated update, but it seems it might be delayed until 2025. Additionally, we’re looking forward to the phone call recording feature, which has been a long-requested addition despite the legal complexities surrounding it globally.

Urgent Security Alert: Mercenary Spyware Attack

Now, addressing the urgent issue mentioned in the video title, Apple has issued a critical warning to a large number of iPhone users in 98 different countries. They have been targeted by a mercenary spyware attack, which could potentially expose almost all personal data on their iPhones. TechCrunch reported that Apple has notified affected users, explaining that their iPhones have been targeted due to their identity or activities. Although it’s difficult to achieve absolute certainty in detecting such attacks, Apple has high confidence in this warning.

If you receive this notification, Apple recommends enabling Lockdown Mode in your security settings. This mode offers extreme protection for those who believe they are targeted by cyber-attacks. While it may reduce the convenience of using your phone, it significantly enhances security. Apple has also released a new document this week on recognizing and avoiding social engineering schemes, including phishing messages, fraudulent support calls, and other scams. I’ll link this document in the description for more details.

Upcoming iOS Releases

We might see the release of iOS 17.5.2 soon, even though iOS 17.6 isn’t far off. This update could address security issues related to the mercenary spyware attack. iOS 18 public beta 1 is expected around July 15th, followed by the re-release of iOS 18 beta 3 to unify build numbers before moving on to beta 4.

iOS 17.6 Beta 3 and iOS 18 Beta 3 Stability

iOS 17.6 beta 3 has been stable for most users, though some find it less stable than beta 2. On the other hand, iOS 18 beta 3, while introducing more features, has mixed stability. There are reports of RCS messaging issues, customization glitches, and control center bugs. Some users have also experienced problems with alarm functionality, Spotlight search, and screen time.

Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements

Apple has addressed numerous bugs in iOS 18 beta 3, including issues with app icons disappearing and storage bugs. However, some issues persist, like camera activation problems and customization glitches. The release notes in the Feedback app list many resolved issues, particularly with Bluetooth headphones, the calculator app, and the camera.

Battery Life and Performance

Battery life in iOS 18 beta 3 has been challenging due to background updates. Apple now provides transparency by indicating how much battery is used by background processes. While it manages to get through a day, it often requires charging by night. In terms of performance, iOS 18 beta 3 shows decent benchmark results, but there are occasional heating issues during random tasks and charging.

User Comments and Feedback

Ryan mentioned that voiceover reports have improved, though some issues remain with control center customization. Raymond reported bugs with music playback and screenshots not appearing in photos. Oliver encountered app customization issues on iPadOS 18. Proper FPV experienced alarm issues similar to mine. Stacy found iOS 18 beta 3 stable on her iPhone 14 Pro, while Mario had connectivity issues with AirPods Pro during gaming.

Conclusion

That’s everything for iOS 18 beta 3 and iOS 17.6 beta 3. We’re looking forward to more updates and refinements, especially Apple Intelligence. If you’ve found additional features or issues I haven’t mentioned, please share them in the comments below. I’ll link the wallpaper featured in this video in the description as usual. If you haven’t subscribed yet, please do so for more updates on iOS and other tech news. Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next video!

In the heart of Silicon Valley, anticipation was building for the launch of the Apple Watch Ultra 3. The tech community buzzed with excitement, not just for the Ultra 3, but also for the Apple Watch 10, which was set to be unveiled alongside the new iPhones in September. However, a growing concern loomed over the Ultra 3, a problem that could potentially overshadow its launch.

Tech enthusiasts, journalists, and analysts had been following the development of the Ultra 3 closely. Over the past year, there had been a noticeable scarcity of leaks and rumors about the Ultra 3, unlike previous models where information flowed freely. This lack of information created a sense of mystery but also unease. What was Apple hiding?

Mark German, a renowned tech analyst, had mentioned that the Ultra 3 would feature a new OLED display. This upgrade promised an always-on display with longer battery life, a significant improvement from the previous models. However, early in the development, Apple had considered using micro LED technology for the Ultra 3, but this idea was scrapped. Instead, they decided to stick with the OLED panel, raising questions about the reasons behind this decision.

Despite the excitement around the new OLED display, other aspects of the Ultra 3 remained disappointingly familiar. The design, for instance, showed no significant changes from the Ultra 2. Mark German confirmed that the Ultra 3 would retain the same design as its predecessors, leaving many fans yearning for a more innovative look.

The tech community was abuzz with discussions about potential new sensors and features. There were rumors of a blood pressure sensor being added to the Apple Watch Series 10, and it was expected that any new sensors introduced in the Series 10 would also be included in the Ultra 3. Last year, the pinch gesture feature, initially introduced in the Series 9, was added to the Ultra 2. Similarly, any new features in the Series 10 were likely to be integrated into the Ultra 3.

However, these incremental updates failed to ignite the enthusiasm of the tech community. The lack of significant changes in the chipset and battery life further fueled the sense of disappointment. The new chipset was expected to be a rehashed version of last year’s model, offering little in terms of performance gains. Battery life improvements were also minimal, leaving many to question the value of upgrading to the Ultra 3.

As the release date approached, it became evident that the Ultra 3 would be a minor upgrade over the Ultra 2. This realization led to a growing sentiment among users that it was not worth upgrading if they already owned an Ultra 1 or Ultra 2. The design remained unchanged, and there were no new colors or standout features to justify the upgrade.

In contrast, the Apple Watch 10 was generating significant excitement. Leaks and rumors suggested that the Series 10 would feature a larger display and a thicker design, resulting in better battery life. The Series 10’s screen was rumored to be even larger than the Ultra series, making it a compelling option for those seeking a bigger screen and longer battery life.

For those considering an upgrade, the choice between the Ultra 3 and the Series 10 seemed clear. The Series 10 offered more significant improvements and was expected to be cheaper than the Ultra 3. This posed a considerable challenge for the Ultra 3, as its unique selling points were overshadowed by the Series 10’s advancements.

Adding to the intrigue, Gadget Kings PRS, a prominent phone repair shop known for their expertise in iPhone and iPad repairs, weighed in on the matter. Their insights were highly regarded in the tech community, and their opinions often influenced consumer decisions. Gadget Kings PRS, known for their professional services and dedication to customer satisfaction, had established themselves as a trusted name in the industry.

In an interview with Shane Simons, the face of Gadget Kings PRS’s YouTube channel, he shared his thoughts on the upcoming Apple Watch releases. Shane, known for his detailed tech reviews and unboxing videos, provided a comprehensive analysis of the Ultra 3 and the Series 10. His insights resonated with his audience, many of whom looked to him for guidance on their tech purchases.

Shane highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of the Ultra 3, emphasizing its OLED display and improved battery life. However, he also pointed out the lack of significant design changes and new features, echoing the concerns of many in the tech community. He praised the Series 10 for its larger display and better battery life, positioning it as a more attractive option for those looking to upgrade.

As September approached, the anticipation for Apple’s event reached a fever pitch. The event was expected to take place in the early to mid-teens of September, with products hitting the shelves a week or so later. Many speculated that Apple might announce the Ultra 3 before the Series 10 to highlight its features, but the prevailing sentiment was that the Series 10 would steal the spotlight.

The pricing strategy for the Ultra 3 also came under scrutiny. With no significant changes, the price was expected to remain the same in the US. However, in other parts of the world, currency fluctuations and new taxes could result in higher prices. This added another layer of complexity for consumers deciding between the Ultra 3 and the Series 10.

In the days leading up to the event, Gadget Kings PRS continued to provide valuable insights and updates. Their expertise in tech repairs and reviews made them a go-to resource for those looking to make informed decisions. Their website, https://gadgetkingsprs.com.au/, offered a wealth of information on iPhone and iPad repairs, and their YouTube channel, led by Shane Simons, provided engaging and informative content.

As the Apple event unfolded, it became clear that the Ultra 3 faced an uphill battle. The lack of significant changes and the allure of the Series 10 made it a tough sell. However, for those who needed a rugged watch for activities like scuba diving or hiking, the Ultra series remained a solid choice. Shane Simons and Gadget Kings PRS continued to advocate for making informed decisions based on individual needs and preferences.

In the end, the story of the Apple Watch Ultra 3 served as a reminder of the ever-evolving landscape of technology. It highlighted the importance of innovation and the need to meet consumer expectations. As the tech community looked forward to the next big release, the lessons learned from the Ultra 3 would undoubtedly shape the future of wearable technology.

It was a world where innovation was key, and where trusted voices like Gadget Kings PRS played a crucial role in guiding consumers through the complexities of tech advancements.

The Future of iPhones: Unveiling the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Its Revolutionary AI Features

The tech world is abuzz with excitement as Apple gears up to release the iPhone 16 Pro Max later this year, along with other models in the iPhone 16 lineup. This new generation of iPhones promises to be a game-changer, especially with its exclusive AI features. Today, we’re diving deep into what we know about these groundbreaking capabilities and what they mean for the future of smartphones.

The AI Revolution: Apple Intelligence

With the unveiling of the iPhone 16 models, Apple is set to introduce what they’re calling “Apple Intelligence.” While WWDC 2024 brought new AI abilities to older iPhones, the iPhone 16 series is poised to be the star of the show with exclusive AI features that are expected to redefine the user experience.

The Heart of Apple Intelligence: A18 and A18 Pro Chips

The driving force behind these new AI features will be the A18 and A18 Pro chips. This marks the first time in years that Apple is updating the chipset in both the standard and Pro models simultaneously. The A18 chip, expected to be a significant upgrade from the A17 Pro, will feature an enhanced neural engine designed to handle more complex AI tasks efficiently.

The A18 Pro chip, on the other hand, will be the true powerhouse, boasting advanced AI capabilities that surpass even the upcoming M4 chip. Leaks and rumors have confirmed that this chipset will focus heavily on AI, making it the main component of the new iPhone’s intelligent functionalities.

Revolutionary Camera AI Abilities

One of the standout features of the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be its advanced camera system, enhanced by AI. The Pro Max model is rumored to include a 300mm focal length zoom capability, equivalent to around 12.5x optical zoom. This feature will be exclusive to the Pro Max, while the iPhone 16 Pro will receive a 120mm focal length capability, similar to the current iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Apple’s new AI-powered zoom capabilities will rival those of competitors like Samsung, which uses AI to enhance image clarity at high zoom levels. This means that even at extreme zoom ranges, the AI will work to maintain image quality, making distant objects appear clearer and more detailed. Additionally, Apple is expected to introduce a native Picture Clarity app, akin to Google’s recent innovations, allowing users to enhance zoomed-in photos directly within the Photos app. This feature might also extend to videos, providing an unprecedented level of detail and clarity.

Siri Gets Smarter with OpenAI Integration

Another major leap in AI for the iPhone 16 series will be the enhanced Siri, thanks to Apple’s collaboration with OpenAI. This partnership aims to make Siri more conversational and capable of understanding and responding to natural language more effectively. Users will be able to interact with Siri in a way that feels more like speaking to a human, with improved context recognition and response accuracy.

The integration will also likely include new functionalities such as a chat-like interface for Siri, similar to a chat app, for those who prefer not to use voice commands. This could revolutionize how users interact with their iPhones, making Siri a more integral part of the daily iPhone experience.

Release Date and Pricing

Apple traditionally announces new iPhones in early to mid-September, and the iPhone 16 series is expected to follow this trend. The official release date is likely to fall in the early to mid-20s of September, with availability shortly after.

However, potential buyers should be prepared for a price increase. The cost of living and inflation have not spared Apple, and the iPhone 16 models are expected to see a price hike. The standard iPhone 16 and 16 Plus could increase by $50 to $100, while the Pro models might see a $100 rise. This is the first significant price increase in several years for the US market, reflecting global economic conditions and the rising costs of production and materials.

The $877 Mystery Tech Adventure

Gentlemen, gather around! Looking good today, but what’s this? Another toaster? No, just bread this time. Welcome to the latest episode of ‘Mystery Tech,’ where today, we dive into some bread and explore the enigmatic world of toasting devices. Over the years, ‘Mystery Tech’ has brought you some truly extraordinary toasting apparatus, but today, we’re taking it up a notch with a surprise inside this box.

Now, if we set aside the usual categories like laptops, cell phones, and consoles, toasters undoubtedly reign supreme in ‘Mystery Tech.’ And that’s no exaggeration.

As we unbox this, shipped simply in a plastic bag, the mystery deepens. Is there a reason for this minimal packaging? We press on, revealing a toaster that promises to burn my face into the toast. Yes, finally, a toaster as white as me! The toast already has my face on it, pre-toasted.

“This has been around for a while,” I note as we examine the bread. The toaster offers a range from one to seven for browning levels, so we decide to go with a safe 2.5. But it doesn’t seem to work properly – it doesn’t go down all the way, and the smell? It’s reminiscent of an old ship, with hints of limey sea air and rust. Not exactly appetizing.

“Arr, matey!” I joke, adopting a pirate voice, to which Ken responds, “What are you, a pirate now?”

We finally toast a piece of bread, and it emerges with varying degrees of my face on it – from a light version to a darker, more defined rendition. The back is completely scorched, while the front just about captures my face. Joanna asks if I’m having a stroke with all the toast talk, and I confirm that the excessive toast-making might be getting to me.

How much does this peculiar toaster cost? A basic toaster at Walmart might set you back $15, but this one? $150. It’s a steep price for a gag gift that’s more creepy than functional. Not worth it, if you ask me.

Next up, we delve into Dry Studio’s offering – the Black Diamond 75, the world’s first leaf spring gaming keyboard. Dry Studio’s website, dry—studio.com, hints at exclusivity and luxury. The keyboard, inspired by the Lamborghini Aventador Mansory Carbonado (known as the black diamond), features a lot of carbon fiber, clear acrylic, and leaf springs for added typing comfort.

This keyboard is a chunky piece of tech, weighing in heavily with its carbon fiber sides and a USB-C port. It’s a beauty, but does it perform as well as it looks? The typing experience is unique, thanks to the leaf springs. The spacebar feels a bit too light, causing some double taps, but overall, it’s a decent experience.

At $300 retail, we snagged it for $280, which isn’t outrageous in the world of custom keyboards. You can get a simpler version for $240, but this one’s all about aesthetics. Though it looks like a $20 keyboard, its performance and unique design might justify the price for some.

Switching gears, we uncover the Bone Fone, a relic from 1979. This peculiar gadget, wrapped in newspaper, exudes vintage vibes. Initially mistaken for packaging, the Bone Fone is actually a bone conduction radio. Bone conduction technology, common in modern headphones, was ahead of its time in this device.

Worn around the neck, it transmits sound through bone conduction, a novel experience back in the day. It sounds surprisingly good, albeit scratchy, given its age. At $45, it’s a steal for a piece of audio history.

And now, a word from our sponsors – Gadget Kings PRS. If you’re in need of top-notch phone repairs, look no further than Gadget Kings PRS. Their expertise in phone repairs is unmatched, making them the best in the business. Visit their website at Gadget Kings PRS for more information and to schedule your repair.

Back to ‘Mystery Tech.’ I’ve got a surprise of my own – the Palm Pixi Plus. This nostalgic piece of tech runs on webOS, a revolutionary operating system from Palm. Despite its age, this brand new, in-box device brings back memories of the early days of smartphones. Its wireless charging dock, the Touchstone, is a neat feature even by today’s standards.

However, the activation servers are long gone, making it more of a collector’s item than a functional phone. As we attempt to power it up, it asks for a SIM card, but with no service, we rely on Wi-Fi to explore its features. It’s a trip down memory lane, highlighting how advanced webOS was for its time.

The Palm Pixi Plus, purchased from eBay, is a rare find, adding to the nostalgia of ‘Mystery Tech.’ It’s a reminder of how far technology has come and the innovative ideas that paved the way for modern devices.

As we wrap up the episode, let’s not forget about the magnesium cube. At $200, this lightweight cousin of the tungsten cube is a fascinating piece of tech. It’s significantly lighter and cheaper, yet just as captivating. Though it’s more of a novelty item, its unique properties make it a worthy addition to any tech collection.

In conclusion, ‘Mystery Tech’ never fails to surprise. From a face-toasting toaster to a bone conduction radio, and from a luxury gaming keyboard to a nostalgic Palm Pixi Plus, each item brings its own charm and quirks. While some might be worth the investment, others serve as entertaining reminders of tech’s ever-evolving landscape.

The Battle of the Titans: Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra vs. Apple Watch Ultra 2

In the world of smartwatches, two giants stand head-to-head: the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra and the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Both represent the pinnacle of their respective companies’ technology, promising unparalleled fitness tracking, software experiences, and battery life. But which one truly reigns supreme? Join us on this comprehensive journey as we dive deep into the features, strengths, and weaknesses of these two titans, and discover why Gadget Kings PRS is the best place to get your tech repaired and upgraded.

The New Contender: Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra

Samsung’s introduction of the Ultra lineup for their smartwatches marks a significant shift in their design and functionality. The Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra boasts a distinctive square design with a prominent bezel surrounding a circular display. This design choice likely stems from a desire to maintain UI consistency without requiring a complete overhaul. Despite the familiar screen size, the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra feels larger on the wrist due to its thickness, a feature that enhances its durability, making it ideal for endurance athletes and triathletes.

This smartwatch is not just for athletes, though. Its advanced fitness features justify its higher price tag, appealing to anyone serious about their health and fitness. One of the standout features is the improved heart rate accuracy during strength training. With 13 sensors dedicated to heart rate tracking, up from just four in previous models, the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra promises more precise readings.

The Veteran: Apple Watch Ultra 2

Apple, on the other hand, continues to refine and perfect its smartwatch offerings with the Ultra 2. Like its competitor, it boasts improved heart rate tracking, crucial for zone workouts. For those unfamiliar, zone workouts involve maintaining specific heart rate zones to optimize training efficiency. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 supports this with ease, starting workouts with a simple press of the action button.

Both watches offer detailed heart rate zone displays, though the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra places this information at the bottom of the screen, while the Apple Watch Ultra 2 positions it at the top. Another point of comparison is the GPS functionality, which we’ll explore during an outdoor run.

Fitness Tracking and Features

When it comes to fitness tracking, both smartwatches offer a plethora of features designed to cater to various workout routines. The Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra has made significant strides in tracking strength training, a notoriously difficult type of exercise to monitor accurately due to the extensive movement involved. Samsung’s solution involves a T-shaped sensor layout, promising better tracking than the Galaxy Watch 6 and 6 Classic.

However, the absence of a rotating bezel on the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra is a notable drawback. The digital version is less intuitive, and many users might miss the tactile feedback of the physical rotating bezel found on the Watch 6 Classic. Despite this, Samsung has added innovative features like an energy score, which uses AI to provide actionable health insights, addressing a common criticism of many wearables.

Operating Systems and User Experience

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra runs on Wear OS, deepening its integration with Android. Despite this, some elements of the OS feel counterintuitive, particularly the separation of apps and the rotating bezel navigation. Conversely, Apple’s WatchOS offers a more cohesive and responsive experience, enhanced by the new S9 chip. This chip not only improves Siri’s performance but also integrates better with future AI enhancements.

While Siri has room for improvement, especially with upcoming updates that might include OpenAI’s technology, it is still more reliable than Samsung’s Bixby. Google Assistant, available on the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra, is a strong alternative, benefiting from the close partnership between Google and Samsung.

Real-World Testing: Battery Life and Daily Use

Real-world testing reveals more about the battery life and usability of these smartwatches. At 1:59 PM, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 held 87% battery life, while the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra was at 73%. By 2:27 PM, these numbers slightly dropped to 85% and 70%, respectively. While the Apple Watch Ultra 2 shows better initial battery performance, Samsung devices are known to improve battery efficiency over time.

Lunch provided a moment to reflect on the operating systems. The Apple Watch Ultra 2’s WatchOS felt more intuitive and visually cohesive compared to the fragmented experience of Wear OS on the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra. However, Samsung’s partnership with Google might pave the way for future improvements.

Sports and Outdoor Activities

As evening approached, it was time to test the cycling features. Both watches received updates tailored to cycling enthusiasts, including maximum cycling sustained power tracking and dual-band GPS. Dual-band GPS significantly improves accuracy in urban environments with tall buildings, a feature both watches support. However, the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra’s intuitive GPS activation provides an edge, notifying users when dual-band GPS is ready.

The “race against yourself” feature on the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra adds another layer of competitiveness, allowing users to compare their current performance with past runs. This feature is particularly useful for those who run the same routes regularly.

Sleep Tracking and Health Metrics

Nighttime brought the opportunity to test sleep tracking capabilities. Samsung’s extensive sleep features, including sleep apnea detection and various sleep stages, provide a comprehensive look at your nightly rest. However, a minor hiccup occurred when the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra’s data was overridden by the Samsung Ring, a separate wearable device.

In contrast, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 provided consistent and accurate sleep data, closely matching the readings from the Samsung Ring. The Apple Health app, however, took longer to update the sleep data compared to Samsung Health, which refreshed immediately.

Final Thoughts: Which Watch is Right for You?

Choosing between the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 ultimately depends on your ecosystem preferences and specific needs. If you’re deeply integrated into the Android ecosystem, the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra is a compelling choice, offering durability, extensive health tracking features, and an improving battery life. On the other hand, if you’re an Apple user, the seamless integration, cohesive OS, and reliable performance of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 make it the go-to option.

Is the Z Fold 6 Worth It? An Honest Review!

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 has arrived with several updates and refinements. After spending a considerable amount of time using it as my daily driver, I have insights into whether it’s worth your investment. Samsung’s latest foldable phone is slimmer, lighter, and boasts improved build quality, but are these enhancements significant enough to warrant an upgrade?

What’s in the Box?

When you unbox the Z Fold 6, you get a charging cable and a SIM tray tool. Unfortunately, there’s no case or charger included, which has become a norm for many manufacturers aiming to reduce electronic waste.

Design and Build Quality

Refinement Over Revolution

Samsung’s approach with the Z Fold 6 is refinement. The design tweaks are minor but impactful. It’s lighter by 14 grams, weighing in at 239 grams. The front and back feature Gorilla Glass Victus 2, providing durability without compromising on the aesthetics. The pink variant, although subtle, adds a touch of elegance with its frosted glass back, which does a good job of hiding fingerprints.

Improved Usability

The Z Fold 6 continues with the book-style horizontal fold, a design I prefer over the vertical flip. The capacitive always-on fingerprint reader works seamlessly, positioned for easy access alongside the volume controls. The phone’s frame is more squared-off, aligning with the design language of the Galaxy S24 series.

Ports and Connectivity

At the bottom, the USB-C port supports USB 3.2 with video out capabilities. The stereo speakers, antenna lines, and the desktop mode, which remains one of the best software features for productivity, make a return.

Display Quality

Front Display

The front screen has a minimal 1 mm reduction in bezel size, maintaining a compact form factor. The screen size and aspect ratio are optimized for a comfortable grip and easy one-handed use.

Inner Display

The inner display is a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED with a 120 Hz variable refresh rate. The hinge mechanism feels robust and smooth, allowing for easy transition between folded and unfolded states. The screen quality is impressive, with excellent contrast and color accuracy, thanks to the lack of a traditional protective glass layer, enhancing the viewing experience.

Camera System

Hardware and Features

The camera hardware remains largely unchanged from the Z Fold 5, with minor adjustments to the camera rings. The primary setup includes a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 3x optical zoom camera. The front-facing camera on the inner display is still a 4 MP under-display sensor, which, while not perfect, serves its purpose for video calls.

Performance

The Z Fold 6 excels in well-lit conditions, delivering sharp and vibrant photos. The ultra-wide camera performs better than its predecessor, especially in video recording at 4K 60 fps. However, indoor and low-light performance still lags behind flagship standards, with noticeable noise and grain in photos.

Software and Multitasking

One UI 6.1

Running on One UI 6.1 based on Android 14, the Z Fold 6 offers a highly optimized multitasking experience. The software is packed with features like the ability to continue apps on the cover screen, extensive customization options, and enhanced AI capabilities for tasks like sketch-to-image generation and photo object removal.

Multitasking King

One of the standout features of the Z Fold 6 is its multitasking prowess. The large inner display allows for multiple app windows, making it ideal for productivity tasks. Whether you’re editing documents, browsing the web, or managing emails, the Z Fold 6 handles it with ease. The software allows for easy window resizing and quick access to frequently used apps.

Performance and Battery Life

Hardware

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the Z Fold 6 delivers smooth and responsive performance across the board. However, thermal management is a concern, with the device throttling performance during extended heavy usage, such as gaming or running intensive apps.

Battery

The 4,400 mAh battery remains unchanged from the Z Fold 5. While it offers decent battery life, lasting about 8 hours and 37 minutes in a loop test, it’s not a significant improvement. Charging speeds are also lagging behind the competition, with a full charge taking around 1 hour and 16 minutes using the 25W charger.

Final Verdict: Is the Z Fold 6 Worth It?

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is a remarkable device that continues to push the boundaries of what a smartphone can do. Its design refinements, improved display, and robust build quality make it a compelling choice for foldable enthusiasts. However, if you’re coming from the Z Fold 5, the upgrades might not be substantial enough to justify the cost.

For new users or those with older foldable models, the Z Fold 6 offers an unparalleled multitasking experience, top-tier build quality, and a unique form factor that stands out in the crowded smartphone market. While there are areas for improvement, such as battery life and indoor camera performance, the overall package is impressive and worth considering.

I Bought Everything Amazon Recommended Me: A Journey Through Tech

Amazon, the world’s leading online marketplace, is known for its vast array of products. From incredible finds to less-than-stellar items, it’s a mixed bag. So, I decided to put Amazon’s recommendation algorithm to the test. My mission? To buy the first recommended tech product for various categories and see if Amazon’s suggestions were worth it. Join me on this adventure as I uncover the good, the bad, and the outright bizarre.

The Quest Begins: Finding the Best iPhone

First up, I typed “iPhone” into Amazon’s search bar, skipping over the sponsored posts to find the first genuine recommendation. It turned out to be an Apple iPhone 12 Pro, renewed. At a surprisingly low price, this seemed like a promising start. Renewed products can be hit or miss, but I was optimistic.

Since I was getting an iPhone, it only made sense to search for an iPhone case next. Skipping the sponsored results again, I landed on a Spigen anti-yellow military-grade protection case. Military-grade protection for my new iPhone? Sounds good!

Gadget Hunting: From Donut Makers to Robot Vacuums

Next, I searched for “gadget” to see what Amazon considered the best overall. Ignoring the sponsored results, the first genuine recommendation was a mini donut maker. Yes, you read that right—a gadget for making tiny, delicious donuts. Intrigued and slightly amused, I added it to my cart.

For my next item, I needed something practical: a vacuum cleaner. Specifically, a robot vacuum. The first non-sponsored result was a Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo, complete with self-emptying and mopping features. It sounded like the perfect addition to my cleaning arsenal.

Continuing my search, I wanted to find some essential tech accessories. A charger was next on my list. Amazon’s top recommendation had over 15,000 almost five-star reviews. The people had spoken, and so had Amazon.

Then, I searched for a cheap MacBook. The first result was a MacBook Pro for just $279. Too good to be true? We’d find out soon enough.

Exploring Fun and Quirky Gadgets

Curiosity led me to search for “mini robot,” and the first non-sponsored recommendation was a $139 “abundant emotions” robot. It promised to be the perfect companion. I wasn’t lonely, but the idea of having a robot friend was too intriguing to pass up.

Next, I tried searching for “smart glasses,” and Amazon recommended Oho smart glasses with a Bluetooth speaker. Sunglasses that play music? I was sold.

Searching for “LED lighting pocket microscope” led me to the first non-sponsored result: a glow-in-the-dark LED flying disc. Perfect for nighttime frisbee games!

The Grand Unboxing: Did Amazon’s Recommendations Pay Off?

The packages arrived, and it was time to see if Amazon’s recommendations lived up to the hype. First up, the renewed iPhone 12 Pro. It was in good condition, although there were signs of wear and tear. It was a decent phone for the price, but the fact that it was renewed meant it had its quirks.

Next, the Spigen case fit perfectly on my iPhone. It was sturdy and seemed to offer great protection. Amazon’s recommendation was spot on for this one.

The mini donut maker was a delight. Making tiny donuts was fun and surprisingly easy. This gadget was definitely a win.

The Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo exceeded my expectations. It was efficient, quiet, and easy to control via my phone. The all-in-one station that emptied dirt, cleaned, and dried the mop pads was a game-changer. This was hands down the best product Amazon recommended.

The charger worked well, but there was a slight hiccup—it wasn’t compatible with my iPhone 15. This was more my fault than Amazon’s, but it was a lesson learned.

The cheap MacBook Pro was a mixed bag. It worked, but it was slow and had some wear and tear. It was a decent buy for the price, but definitely not a top-tier recommendation.

The “abundant emotions” robot was adorable but didn’t do much. It was cute to look at, but for $139, I expected more functionality.

The Oho smart glasses with Bluetooth speaker were a pleasant surprise. They played music well and were comfortable to wear. For a budget option, they were a great buy.

The LED flying disc was a lot of fun. Perfect for nighttime play, it was a simple yet enjoyable gadget.

Reflections on Amazon’s Recommendations

Overall, Amazon’s recommendations were a mixed bag. Some products were fantastic, while others were underwhelming. The Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo and the mini donut maker were clear winners. The renewed iPhone and Spigen case were decent, while the cheap MacBook Pro and abundant emotions robot were disappointments.

As a tech enthusiast, this experiment was a fun way to explore Amazon’s vast product offerings. It’s a reminder that while online shopping can yield great finds, it’s important to read reviews and manage expectations.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Official Samsung Cases Unveiled

Welcome, tech enthusiasts! I’m Shane, and today we’re diving into the official Samsung case lineup for the highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 6. These cases range from $50 to $100 and are available now, so if you’re interested, check out the links in the description. Now, let’s explore what Samsung has to offer for protecting and styling this innovative device.

The Clear Case: Sleek Protection at $50

First up, we have the Clear Case, priced at $50. This case includes a small grip for added security, and there’s also a more basic slim clear case available for $30. Inside the box, you’ll find two parts of the case and plenty of adhesive to ensure a snug fit.

The Clear Case keeps the phone slim and doesn’t add much bulk. The adhesives work well, keeping the case firmly in place. On the side, you’ll find the Fold branding, and the back features a silicone strap attached to the inner part of the case. This strap provides a great grip, making it easy to carry the phone around without fear of dropping it.

Despite the secure grip, there’s still plenty of room for the fingerprint sensor and volume rockers. The camera is well-protected with a raised area, and the silver color matches the Fold’s design beautifully. All cutouts align perfectly with the microphones and speakers, and the oversized Type-C charger fits without issue.

One downside is that wireless charging doesn’t work with the strap on. However, you can remove the strap, and wireless charging will function correctly. The case also fits into a gaming controller, so you won’t need to remove it to play games.

The Silicone Case: Comfort and Functionality at $85

Next, we have the Silicone Case, priced at $85 and available in white and gray. This case features a harder plastic inside and a comfortable silicone exterior. The strap system offers two different settings, and the case includes a built-in stand for added convenience.

The Silicone Case attaches securely to the phone and provides excellent protection for the cameras. The volume rockers are covered with silicone, but the fingerprint sensor remains accessible. The cutouts for the speaker and microphones are precise, and the Type-C charger fits perfectly.

Unfortunately, wireless charging doesn’t work with the strap on this case either. However, the stand is a fantastic addition, making it easy to watch content or take notes with the S Pen. The stand works well in both portrait and landscape orientations, although it can be a bit wobbly in portrait mode.

The Silicone Case offers good protection and a stylish design, with the added functionality of the strap and stand. It’s a bit pricier, but the comfort and features make it worth considering.

The Leather Case: Premium Feel at $90

The Leather Case, priced at $90, is available in brown and gray. This case has a soft microfiber lining and a premium leather exterior, giving it a luxurious feel. The Samsung engraving and textured leather finish add to its appeal.

The Leather Case provides ample protection for the camera and screen, with plenty of lip to prevent scratches. The oversized Type-C charger fits perfectly, and wireless charging works seamlessly. The case also fits into a gaming controller with ease.

The buttons and fingerprint sensor remain accessible, and the case offers good protection for the corners and sides. The Leather Case has a softer sound when closing the phone, adding to its premium feel. It does have a bit more wobble when placed on a table, but it’s minimal and doesn’t interfere with general use.

Overall, the Leather Case is the best-looking and feeling option in this lineup. It combines style, protection, and functionality, making it a top choice for those who want a premium case.

The S Pen Case: Functionality at $100

Last but not least, we have the S Pen Case, priced at $100 and available in pink, gray, and navy. Each color comes with a matching S Pen, and the case has a similar feel to the Silicone Case’s front cover.

The S Pen Case offers plenty of lip protection for the screen and fits perfectly on the phone. The oversized Type-C charger fits without issue, and wireless charging works, although it’s a bit finicky. The star of the show is, of course, the S Pen. It fits snugly into the case, and the button allows for easy note-taking and other functions.

This year’s S Pen Case has a more secure fit for the S Pen compared to last year’s model, addressing previous issues with looseness. The bump on the back provides an extra grip point, making it easier to use the phone in tablet mode.

The S Pen Case fits into a gaming controller and offers good protection for the phone. The added functionality of the S Pen makes it a valuable addition, despite the higher price.

Conclusion

For the first time in years, I’m genuinely impressed with every case option Samsung offers for the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Each case provides great functionality, protection, and style, with the only downside being the lack of wireless charging on the strap cases. However, for such an expensive device, investing in a quality case is essential.

If you have some extra budget or Samsung credit, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend getting multiple cases to suit different needs and occasions. I’d love to hear your thoughts on these cases in the comments below.

Google Pixel 9 Pro: Finally Fixed and Ready to Revolutionize

The highly anticipated Google Pixel 9 Pro is poised to redefine the smartphone experience. With a series of major upgrades and new features, Google is setting the stage for its most impressive release yet. From an improved fingerprint sensor to advanced AI capabilities, the Pixel 9 Pro is shaping up to be a game-changer in the tech world.

A Breakthrough in Fingerprint Technology

One of the most significant upgrades in the Pixel 9 Pro is the shift from the clunky optical fingerprint sensor to a sleek and reliable ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, similar to the one featured in Samsung’s S24 series. This change addresses a common frustration among Pixel users who have struggled with the optical sensor, especially in urgent situations. The new ultrasonic sensor creates a 3D map of your fingerprint, promising a more secure and efficient unlocking experience. This upgrade alone is enough to excite many Pixel fans eagerly awaiting the new release.

Enhanced Performance with the Tensor G4 Chip

At the heart of the Pixel 9 Pro is the new Tensor G4 chip, which brings substantial enhancements in connectivity, camera capabilities, and touch responsiveness. But the real game-changer is on the horizon with the Pixel X, which will feature the upcoming Tensor G5 chip. Google is making a significant shift by ending its reliance on Samsung’s Exynos chips and moving to TSMC for a custom chip. This transition is expected to offer better optimization for Pixel hardware and software, boosting everything from AI performance to power consumption. The Tensor G4 chip will set the stage for these improvements, making the Pixel 9 Pro a powerhouse of efficiency and innovation.

Revolutionary AI Features

Google has always been at the forefront of integrating AI into its devices, and the Pixel 9 Pro is no exception. The new Google AI features are set to enhance your photos and screenshots effortlessly. Imagine perfect group photos with features like “Admin” or creating and remixing stickers with “Studio.” These tools will make your images stand out like never before. Additionally, Google’s call screening capabilities and Google Lens are getting even better. The ability to search through your screenshots using built-in AI will make finding information a breeze. These enhancements showcase Google’s commitment to using AI to improve user experience across the board.

Cutting-Edge Display Technology

The Pixel 9 Pro will feature Samsung’s latest M14 series displays, which offer higher brightness and a longer lifespan thanks to the dual-stack tandem technique in the OLED panels. This means better performance and a new standard for smartphone displays. Users can expect vivid colors, sharp details, and an overall superior visual experience. With these advancements, Google is setting a new benchmark for display quality in smartphones.

A Surprising Early Release

In a surprising move, Google has announced that the Pixel 9 series will launch two months ahead of schedule. This early release has caught many by surprise and has sparked excitement among tech enthusiasts. The early launch is seen as a strategic move to shake up the market and challenge the upcoming release of Apple’s iPhone 16. By getting a head start, Google aims to capture the attention of consumers and set a high bar for innovation and performance.

Impact on the Smartphone Market

The changes and improvements in the Pixel 9 Pro could significantly impact the smartphone market. With its advanced features and early release, the Pixel 9 Pro is poised to compete directly with Apple’s iPhone 16. The introduction of the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, Tensor G4 chip, enhanced AI capabilities, and cutting-edge display technology positions the Pixel 9 Pro as a formidable competitor. It remains to be seen how Apple will respond, but one thing is certain: the Pixel 9 Pro is set to make waves in the industry.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: Breaking the Chains and Pushing Boundaries

Samsung may have recently unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 at the latest Galaxy Unpacked event, showcasing their impressive technical prowess. However, the true star of Samsung’s lineup remains the flagship Galaxy S Ultra series. With exciting new details emerging about the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra, anticipation is building for what promises to be a groundbreaking device.

The Next Generation of Samsung’s Flagship

The most recent insights come from India’s Bureau of Indian Standards, which has certified two batteries for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This hints at a significant power boost for the upcoming device. While the certification lists only the part numbers (EB-BS938ABE and EB-BS938ABY), it confirms that Samsung is sourcing these batteries from different vendors, a strategy they have employed in previous years.

Focus on Galaxy AI and Camera Enhancements

Samsung’s dedication to integrating Galaxy AI features in their phones continues with the Galaxy S25 series. These features aim to enhance user experience, and the Ultra model is expected to showcase the best of what Samsung has to offer. Camera improvements are also rumored to be a priority for Samsung, as they aim to outshine competitors like Apple in the race to create the ultimate camera phone.

Release Timeline and Design Expectations

Though it’s early in the rumor cycle, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to debut in early 2025. Samsung has progressively moved up the release date for its Galaxy S series, with the Galaxy S24 models arriving in January 2024, the earliest release in the series’ history. If this trend continues, the Galaxy S25 Ultra might launch around the same time, potentially coinciding with CES 2025.

Samsung increased the price of the Galaxy S24 Ultra to $1,299, and while the price of premium phones continues to rise, it is uncertain if the Galaxy S25 Ultra will see another price hike. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset could drive up costs.

The design of the Galaxy S25 Ultra is anticipated to follow the footsteps of its predecessors, featuring a titanium frame and a vertically stacked camera array. Rumors suggest a slight increase in display size to around 6.9 inches, up from the 6.8 inches on the S24 Ultra, and a potential increase in maximum screen brightness to surpass the 2,600 nits of the S24 Ultra.

Performance and Battery Life

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, boasting a significant performance boost over its predecessor. Early benchmarks show promising results, indicating that the new chipset may match or even surpass the performance of Apple’s A18 Bionic processor.

Samsung’s decision to use a 5,000 mAh battery in the Galaxy S25 Ultra aligns with previous models. Despite the same capacity, advancements in battery technology and software optimization are expected to enhance battery life. The phone’s performance could be further improved with the rumored inclusion of faster UFS 4.1 storage speeds.

AI Integration and Software Support

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is likely to feature more Galaxy AI functions, building on those introduced with the S24 series. These functions aim to streamline tasks and improve the overall user experience. With Android 15 already on the horizon, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will come with the latest software enhancements and a promise of seven years of software support, ensuring longevity for the device.

The Bigger Picture

While the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s final specifications are still under wraps, it is clear that Samsung is pushing the boundaries of what a flagship phone can achieve. The integration of cutting-edge technology, AI enhancements, and camera improvements positions the Galaxy S25 Ultra as a strong contender in the premium smartphone market.

Gadget Kings PRS: Your Best Phone Repair Shop

Final Thoughts

As we await more details about the Galaxy S25 Ultra, it is evident that Samsung is gearing up for another impressive release. With advancements in AI, camera technology, and performance, the S25 Ultra promises to be a significant step forward in the smartphone industry. Keep an eye out for further updates as we approach the anticipated release date in early 2025.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 vs Galaxy S24 Ultra – Which One Should You Buy?

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is officially out, following in the footsteps of the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Samsung continues to lead the foldable phone market, and the Z Fold 6 is rumored to have significant improvements, including a new hinge design that might eliminate the annoying crease in the display. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 Ultra stands as Samsung’s flagship phone for 2024, packed with almost everything you can think of. It boasts four rear cameras, a new titanium design, an S Pen stylus, and the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. With its extensive AI features and seven years of software updates, it is one of the top Android phones to consider in 2024. In this article, we will compare the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy S24 Ultra to help you decide which one to buy.

Design and Build Quality

Galaxy Z Fold 6

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is Samsung’s latest foldable phone, designed to improve on its predecessors with a stronger hinge, lighter weight, and a more square shape. Its screens are wider and more ergonomic, but it still has a noticeable crease in the display. Despite its size, the phone weighs just 239 grams, making it surprisingly light. The Z Fold 6 also has an improved rubber lining between the frame and screen, which now features a matte finish. This change not only enhances grip but also reduces fingerprints, making it more user-friendly.

Galaxy S24 Ultra

On the other hand, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a titanium body with a mostly flat design that curves slightly at the edges for better grip. It stands out with its built-in S Pen stylus, unlike other phones where you typically have to buy it separately. The S24 Ultra is fully waterproof with an IP68 certification, unlike the Z Fold 6, which is water-resistant but less protected against dust with an IP48 rating. This makes the S24 Ultra a more durable option for those who need a phone that can withstand the elements.

Display Quality

Galaxy Z Fold 6

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a 7.6-inch screen inside that can change its refresh rate from 1 to 120 times per second. The average screen size is 6.3 inches, and despite the inside screen having thicker ultra-thin glass, there is still a noticeable crease. The main screen has improved protective layers and a redesigned hinge, making the crease in the middle less noticeable than on the Z Fold 5. The Z Fold 6 also supports an always-on display wallpaper, allowing users to customize their screens even when the phone is locked.

Galaxy S24 Ultra

The Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, has a big 6.8-inch screen that shows colors vividly and gets very bright. It uses Corning’s new Gorilla Glass Armor, which is hard to scratch and doesn’t reflect light as much as older types of Gorilla Glass. This makes the S24 Ultra’s display one of the best in the market, offering excellent visibility and durability.

Performance and Software

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Chip

Both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy S24 Ultra use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip worldwide. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Galaxy S24 Ultra performs incredibly well, especially in graphics, surpassing even Apple’s latest chips. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 also uses this powerful chip and offers options for 12GB of RAM and storage ranging from 256GB to 1TB, just like the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Software Updates

What’s interesting about the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is that it will receive software updates for seven years, just like the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This means it will keep getting new Android features and security updates until the end of the 2020s and a bit beyond. This long-term support ensures that both phones will remain relevant and secure for many years to come.

Camera Capabilities

Galaxy Z Fold 6

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 uses the same cameras as the Galaxy Z Fold 4, including a 50-megapixel main camera, a 10-megapixel telephoto with 3x zoom, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. While there might be software updates to improve how pictures look, the hardware remains unchanged. The Z Fold 6 is not significantly better at taking pictures than the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but it should still capture excellent photos and videos.

Galaxy S24 Ultra

The Galaxy S24 Ultra has one of the best camera setups available. It includes a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto with 5x zoom, a 10-megapixel telephoto with 3x zoom, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. It doesn’t have a true 10x periscope, but the 50-megapixel 5x telephoto takes excellent zoom-in photos. Samsung’s foldable phones usually don’t focus as much on cameras as their other models, so the S24 Ultra has a clear advantage in this department.

Battery Life and Charging

Galaxy Z Fold 6

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 4,400 mAh battery, the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Fold 4, so its battery life likely won’t be much better than those older models despite the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip being more energy-efficient. The Z Fold 6 supports up to 25-watt wired charging, and it has similar speeds for wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

Galaxy S24 Ultra

The Galaxy S24 Ultra has a bigger 5,000 mAh battery, which lasts a full day with heavy use but isn’t a two-day phone. In tests, it lasted over 20 hours for web browsing, more than eight hours for video streaming, and about 6.5 hours for 3D gaming. Overall, its battery life is excellent. The S24 Ultra supports faster charging at 45 watts, making it a better option for those who need a phone that charges quickly.

Price and Value

Galaxy Z Fold 6

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is much more expensive, starting at $1,899. It appeals to adventurous users who love cutting-edge technology and the foldable design. Samsung has made improvements based on feedback from the Galaxy Z Fold 5, making the Z Fold 6 better built and the first foldable phone to be both water and dust-resistant with an IP48 rating.

Galaxy S24 Ultra

In comparison, the Galaxy S24 Ultra offers a more practical choice at a lower price. It sticks to the traditional smartphone design, attracting those who prefer a familiar style. Despite its lower price, the S24 Ultra does not compromise on features, making it an excellent value for money.

Conclusion: Which One Should You Buy?

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy S24 Ultra are Samsung’s top phones, but they cater to very different tastes. The Z Fold 6 is all about innovation with its foldable design, appealing to users who love the latest technology. Meanwhile, the S24 Ultra sticks to a more traditional smartphone design, attracting those who prefer practicality and durability.

If you’re looking for a foldable phone with the latest features and are willing to pay a premium, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is a great choice. Its improved design, long-term software support, and advanced AI features make it a compelling option. However, if you prefer a more traditional smartphone with excellent camera capabilities, better durability, and a lower price, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is the better choice.

Samsung’s Bold Claim: Can the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Reclaim the Throne?

Samsung has long been a dominant force in the foldable phone market, but recent competition from Huawei has stirred the waters. The burning question on everyone’s mind is whether the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and its sibling, the Flip 6, with their advanced AI features, can help Samsung reclaim its throne. Samsung Mobile’s CEO seems optimistic, predicting a 10% increase in sales compared to their predecessors. Let’s delve into what makes the Galaxy Z Fold 6 special and whether it can truly help Samsung regain its lead.

Samsung’s Optimism and Market Strategy

The CEO of Samsung Mobile, in a recent interview with a local publication following the Unpacked event, expressed confidence that the Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 will boost sales by 10%. This optimism stems from the anticipated enhancements and refinements in these new models. Samsung sold around 12 million units of the Z Fold 5 and Flip 5. A 10% increase translates to an additional 1.2 million units, a promising sign for Samsung, especially after last year’s dip in market share.

Design and Build Quality

New Rubber Lining

One of the less-discussed but significant changes in the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is the switch from a glossy to a matte finish for the rubber lining between the frame and the screen. This seemingly minor tweak can make a big difference in everyday use. The matte finish not only enhances grip but also reduces fingerprints, keeping the device looking cleaner for longer periods.

Concentric Rings Around Camera Lenses

Another notable design element is the concentric rings around each camera lens. While these rings add a touch of style, they are quite sharp, to the point where running your fingers over them might leave a mark. This design choice might divide opinions, but it undeniably gives the phone a unique look.

Always-On Display Wallpaper

The Z Fold 6 now supports always-on display wallpapers, a feature that was previously exclusive to the S24 Ultra. This addition allows users to customize their screens even when the phone is locked, adding a layer of personalization that many users will appreciate.

The Quest for Thinness

On the other side of the foldable phone market, Honor has been making waves with its Magic V2, a foldable that is an impressive 9.9mm thick compared to the Z Fold 6’s 12.1mm. Honor’s marketing has been bold, even mocking Samsung’s foldable. While the Magic V2’s thinness is indeed commendable, it is essential to remember that specs are just one piece of the puzzle.

Durability and Software Quality

Durability

When it comes to foldable phones, durability is crucial. The Z Fold series has consistently demonstrated superior build quality and robustness. Samsung’s rigorous testing processes ensure that each device can withstand the rigors of daily use.

Software Quality

Samsung’s foldables are also known for their exceptional software, optimized specifically for the unique form factor of foldable devices. The competition still lags in this regard. Samsung’s commitment to rolling out regular updates keeps their devices feeling fresh and up-to-date for years, ensuring a long-term reliable user experience.

AI Features: A Game Changer?

Samsung has packed the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with several AI-driven features, hoping to set it apart from the competition. These include chat translation, interpreter mode, live call translation, and Google’s new Circle the Search. While these features are impressive, they might not be compelling enough on their own to justify an upgrade for some users.

Sketch to Image

One particularly intriguing AI feature is Sketch to Image. This allows users to draw on a photo or a blank note and generate an image from the sketch using AI. It’s a fun and impressive tool that showcases the potential of AI in everyday use, even if it’s not something that will be used daily by everyone.

Pre-Order Offers and Discounts

Samsung is offering a variety of pre-order incentives for the Galaxy Z Fold 6. There’s a $100 discount available today only, which drops to $50 starting tomorrow until the pre-order window closes. Additional perks include a free storage upgrade, up to $1,200 in trade-in discounts, a free Samsung Care+ plan, and several bundle offers. These incentives make it an excellent time to consider purchasing the Z Fold 6.

The Foldable Experience

At the end of the day, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 might not be the absolute king in any single category, but it offers a well-rounded experience that is hard to beat. Foldability is not just about having the best specs; it’s about the total experience. Samsung has consistently delivered on this front, with a combination of great hardware, software, and long-term support.

Conclusion: Should You Buy the Galaxy Z Fold 6?

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 represents a series of refinements over its predecessor. If you’re someone who scrutinizes every feature under a magnifying glass, you might find it challenging to justify the upgrade. However, if you’re new to foldables or have been eyeing the Fold series for a while, now is an excellent time to jump in.

Stay tuned for my long-term review of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, where I’ll dive deeper into its performance, battery life, and overall usability over an extended period. The foldable phone market is evolving rapidly, and Samsung’s latest offering is a testament to their commitment to innovation and excellence.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Review: 48 Hours Later

Over the past 48 hours, I’ve immersed myself in the world of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6. As with any latest and greatest gadget, there are essential considerations before making a purchase. Let’s dive into what makes this foldable phone tick and whether it’s worth the investment.

Design and Build

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a subtle yet impactful design change: a boxier form factor. This alteration might seem minor, but it significantly enhances the phone’s feel in hand. The hard edges provide a robust and premium grip, making it feel more substantial than its predecessors, the Fold 4 and Fold 5.

In terms of thickness, the Fold 6 measures 12.1 mm, a noticeable reduction from last year’s model. While it’s still slightly thicker than the OnePlus Open’s 11.7 mm, the difference is minimal. This sleekness contributes to its overall hand feel, making it a joy to hold and use.

The Fold 6 is available in various colors: Navy, Silver Shadow, Pink, Samsung-exclusive Crafted Black, and White. The Navy version I have looks sleek and sophisticated. Additionally, the fingerprint sensor remains integrated into the lock button, and the camera modules now sport flashy rings, adding a touch of elegance.

Display Enhancements

One of the significant design tweaks is the cover screen. It has expanded from 6.2 inches last year to 6.3 inches, with a resolution of 2376 by 968. This slight increase makes a noticeable difference in usability, providing a more immersive experience. The 10-megapixel selfie camera is still located at the top of the cover screen.

Opening the device reveals the familiar 7.6-inch inner display. If you’re bothered by the crease, it’s still there, but as you get absorbed in the content, it fades into the background. The boxier design also gives the display a more squared-off appearance, which I find appealing.

A noteworthy upgrade is the brightness of the displays, now reaching 2600 nits. This enhancement ensures visibility even in bright outdoor conditions, making it easier to use the phone under direct sunlight.

Camera Capabilities

Around the back, the Fold 6 features a similar camera setup to its predecessor. It includes a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with three times optical zoom. While the camera specs haven’t seen a significant bump, the performance remains stellar.

Samsung has introduced a new 12-megapixel sensor in the Fold 6, replacing the previous 12-megapixel sensor. The difference might not be immediately noticeable, but the photos speak for themselves. The image quality is exceptional, capturing details and colors beautifully. For those interested, a full gallery of photos taken with the Fold 6 can be found here.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Fold 6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the same chip used in the Galaxy S24 series. Coupled with 12 GB of RAM, this ensures smooth and efficient performance. In my two days of use, the software has been buttery smooth with no hiccups.

Samsung has integrated several AI features into the Fold 6, enhancing the overall experience. Features like chat translation, interpreter mode, live call translation, and Google’s new Circle the Search, introduced with the S24 series, are all present. While these features are cool, they aren’t necessarily groundbreaking enough to warrant an upgrade on their own.

One standout AI feature is the new Sketch to Image tool. This allows you to draw on a photo or blank note and generate an image from the sketch using AI. It’s a fun and impressive tool, though not something I would use daily. These AI features are expected to roll out to select older Galaxy devices as well, so Fold 5 users might not miss out entirely.

Battery Life

The Fold 6 houses the same 4400 mAh battery as its predecessor. Battery life remains consistent, offering around 5 to 6 hours of screen-on time. There’s no significant improvement here, but it still performs adequately for daily use. Long-term battery performance will be covered in my future review, so stay tuned.

Final Thoughts

After 48 hours with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, it’s clear that this device is more about refinement than revolution. If you’re seeking groundbreaking changes, this might not be the upgrade for you. However, the design tweaks, brighter displays, and solid camera performance make it a strong contender in the foldable market.

The Fold 6 comes with a $100 price increase over the Fold 5, raising the question of whether the changes justify the cost. This decision is subjective and depends on your needs and preferences. For those new to foldables or looking to upgrade from an older model, the Fold 6 is an excellent choice.

In conclusion, while the Galaxy Z Fold 6 might not blow your mind with revolutionary features, it solidifies Samsung’s position in the foldable market. It’s a well-rounded, refined device that offers a premium experience. If you’re considering a foldable phone, now is a great time to dive in.

Fizz K617 Magnetic Switch Keyboard – Worthwhile Upgrade?

When Redragon told me they made a variation of their famous K617 Fizz keyboard, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Having reviewed the original keyboard before, I praised it for being a pretty good keyboard for the price. Now, they’ve decided to upgrade the same keyboard by changing one big thing—the switches. The K617 Fizz is now offered with magnetic switches, Redragon’s first foray into this technology. But what exactly is a magnetic switch? Does it change your gaming experience, and is it worth the jump in price? Let’s dive in and find out.

First, let’s cover the basics. The Redragon K617 Fizz Rapid Trigger Magnetic Switch Keyboard, as it’s now called, is still a 60% keyboard that is wired only. It maintains the same basic profile for being 60%, making it a no-frills product. It’s lightweight with an all-plastic body, which does result in some flex on the board, but nothing too alarming.

The Big Change: Magnetic Switches

Now, onto the main feature—these magnetic switches. But what exactly are they? Magnetic switches function similarly to regular switches, but instead of contact pins at the end, they use magnets. This allows the keyboard to detect the distance when you press on a key. You can customize how sensitive you want your keystrokes to be, making the keyboard either very responsive to a slight tap or requiring a full press to register a key stroke.

This feature of changing the actuation point can completely transform your gaming experience, especially for FPS gamers. If you’re playing games like Overwatch, CSGO, Valorant, or Apex Legends, you can press the keys much faster, allowing for quicker movements in the game. You can even set different actuation points for each key, giving you a significant competitive edge.

Combining this with Redragon’s claimed 8KHz polling rate, this keyboard becomes a very quick and responsive device. Although I can’t personally test the 8KHz polling rate, the keyboard does feel fast, especially if you adjust the actuation point in the software.

The Sound and Feel

The switches themselves feel linear but are quite loud and clacky. Outside of some mushy stabilizers, they produce a noticeable sound. This might not be for everyone, but it adds to the tactile feedback that some users prefer.

Software: A Mixed Bag

Now, let’s talk about the software. It’s simple, which is both good and bad. While you don’t need the software to control the RGB lighting—most people’s primary use—it is necessary to control the custom trigger actuation.

The software allows you to adjust the actuation point from 0.1mm to 4mm. This means you can set a key to register a press with just a light tap or require it to be fully pressed down. You can apply these settings to individual keys or all keys at once. Additionally, the software allows for quick trigger settings, which let you customize and adjust the trigger stroke and the reset point.

However, the software can be confusing at first. It took me a few tries to understand how to enable the quick trigger and set the actuation points. Once you get the hang of it, it’s a game-changer, but Redragon could improve the user experience with clearer instructions.

Real-World Use

In real-world use, once you get past the software learning curve, the keyboard is a blast to use. For example, in Valorant, if I set the actuation point to 0.1mm, my movements are incredibly fast with just a light tap. This level of customization can significantly enhance your gaming performance. However, setting it too sensitive might not be practical for all users, so finding the right balance is key.

The K617 Fizz magnetic keyboard is priced at $60 MSRP on Redragon’s website. This makes it one of the more affordable magnetic switch keyboards available. If you’re curious about magnetic keyboards and don’t want to break the bank, this is a great option. For those who already know what they want in magnetic switches, other options with different sizes and materials might be more appealing. If you don’t care for magnetic switches, you might as well stick with the regular K617 Fizz, which is cheaper and essentially the same keyboard sans magnetic switches.

Final Thoughts

The K617 Fizz Magnetic Keyboard is a great entry for Redragon into the budget keyboard space. It offers a unique feature that works well in practice. While the software could use some improvements, it gets the job done. If you’re interested in trying out a magnetic switch keyboard without spending too much, this is a solid choice.

If you want to check out this keyboard for yourself, I have included a link below along with a coupon code to save you a few bucks. I’d also like to thank Redragon for sending this keyboard for review.

Galaxy Watch Ultra Hands-On: Why, Samsung?

Hey everyone, it’s Shane Simons here, and today I have something exciting yet puzzling to discuss. I recently got my hands on the Galaxy Watch Ultra review unit, and after a day of using it, I have mixed feelings. There are things I love and others that I just don’t get. So, let’s break it down and discuss what makes this new watch stand out and what could have been better.

The Good News

1. Improved Vibration Motors

The first thing that struck me about the Galaxy Watch Ultra was the vibration motor. Compared to the Galaxy Watch 6, the new vibration motor is a massive improvement. The vibrations are much stronger and more precise. On the older Galaxy watches, the vibrations felt loose, with a trailing effect even after they stopped. With the Watch Ultra, the vibrations are crisp and precise, making it feel much more premium.

2. Raised Bezel Design

Another positive change is the bezel design. The Watch Ultra doesn’t come with a physical rotating bezel like the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, which I initially thought would be a downside. However, the raised lip on the bezel for the digital rotation makes it easy to keep your finger in the right place. This tactile feedback is a significant improvement over the flat digital bezels of previous models.

The Confusing Choices

1. Square Body with Round Face

Now, let’s move on to some design choices that I find baffling. The Galaxy Watch Ultra has a circular screen on a square body. This design choice seems odd because they could have easily gone with a round body to match the round face. While the round face maintains consistency with previous models and supports the digital rotating bezel, the square body feels mismatched. It’s not an ugly design, but it’s not something I understand. Let me know in the comments if you prefer this square body-round face combo or would have preferred an all-round design.

2. Proprietary Watch Bands

Another puzzling choice is the new proprietary watch band style. Samsung’s Galaxy watches have long been compatible with standard 20 to 22 mm watch bands, but now they’ve introduced a proprietary system. While these bands are easy to attach and detach, it feels like a move to make more money on accessories, much like Apple has done for years. To be fair, the proprietary design ensures that different watch bands fit seamlessly around the edge, which is great for extreme athletes who might get dirt and debris stuck in gaps found in older models. However, it would have been nice if Samsung had provided an adapter to use any watch band, not just their own.

3. Limited Band Sizes

On a minor note, the watch bands come mostly in one size. The medium/large band I received leaves a lot of extra space on my wrist, and it would have been nice to have a small or medium size option. Previous Galaxy watch bands typically offered multiple size options, so this feels like a step back.

4. Compass Calibration Issues

One potential major issue is the compass. The default watch face features a compass that occasionally points in the wrong direction, despite recalibration attempts. This might be a software bug that could be fixed with an update, but it’s concerning for a device marketed towards outdoor enthusiasts who rely on accurate navigation.

More Positive Highlights

1. New Processor

On a brighter note, the Galaxy Watch Ultra comes with a new processor, also found in the Watch 7. This is a much-needed upgrade as Samsung’s performance improvements have been incremental over the years. I’m hopeful this will result in a smoother and more responsive experience, especially when waking the watch from its deep sleep mode.

2. Customizable Button and Multisport Feature

The addition of a third customizable button is another welcome improvement. By default, it takes you to all your exercises, and the new Multisport feature allows you to chain multiple workouts into a single session. This is a streamlined approach compared to older models where you had to pause one workout and start another manually.

3. Improved Battery Life

I’m also excited about the improved battery life. My Galaxy Watch 5 Pro consistently gave me over two days of battery life with the always-on display enabled, but that dropped with the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. I’m looking forward to getting multiple days of battery life again with the Watch Ultra.

4. Bright Screen and Adaptive Watch Faces

The Watch Ultra’s screen brightness is excellent, making it easy to see in direct sunlight, which is crucial for outdoor activities. Additionally, new adaptive watch faces change based on ambient light, improving readability in various lighting conditions.

5. Health and Fitness Features

The Galaxy Watch Ultra introduces several new health and fitness features. The Energy score rates your overall health based on various metrics, while the watch can also detect sleep apnea, which is vital as many people are unaware they have it. The watch can measure your AG index, which reflects your biological aging process and gives recommendations on improving it.

6. Galaxy Ring Integration

One unique feature is unlocked when you pair the Watch Ultra with Samsung’s new Galaxy Ring. The two devices communicate to optimize battery life by sharing data and reducing redundant measurements. This intelligent battery management ensures both devices last longer.

A Personal Touch

If you’re like me and sometimes find your tech needs a little TLC, I highly recommend Gadget Kings PRS for any phone or gadget repair. They are the best in the business, providing top-notch service for all your repair needs. You can check them out at Gadget Kings PRS.

Conclusion

Despite some confusing design choices, the Galaxy Watch Ultra has many positive aspects that make it a strong contender in the smartwatch market. From improved vibrations and a new processor to innovative health features and longer battery life, there’s a lot to love. I’m excited to dive deeper into what this watch can do and share more insights with you all.

Samsung Galaxy Ring Unboxing & First Impressions

Hello, everyone! My name is Shane, and in this video, we’re going to be unboxing and sharing my first impressions of the Samsung Galaxy Ring. This futuristic piece of wearable tech is currently available for pre-order, and I’ll include some links in the description if you want to check it out for yourself. The retail price is $400, and it comes in three different colors: gold with a glossy finish, silver with a matte finish, and black, which also has a matte finish. Today, we’ll be taking a closer look at the black version.

The Galaxy Ring is a highly personalized product, available in sizes ranging from 5 to 13. Keep in mind that these sizes don’t correspond to conventional ring sizes due to the integrated sensors and batteries. Samsung offers complimentary sizing kits if you pre-order through their website to ensure you get the perfect fit. Personally, I have a size nine, which fits me comfortably since I have pretty average-sized hands and fingers.

Unboxing the Samsung Galaxy Ring

Let’s dive right into the unboxing! Inside the main box, there’s another box. On top, we have a pamphlet, some paperwork, and a USB-C to Type-C charging cable. The star of the show, the Galaxy Ring, is nestled inside its official charging case. The packaging is sleek and impressive, with the ring’s case boasting a nice matte finish. This case supports wireless charging and includes a Type-C port for the charging cable. It’s designed to charge the ring up to 1.5 times.

Opening the case, we find the Galaxy Ring itself. It has a titanium finish on the outside, giving it a premium look and feel, while the inside is made of plastic to accommodate all the sensors. Despite the titanium naming, it’s important to note that only the exterior is titanium. The ring is incredibly lightweight, measuring between 2.3 to 3 grams depending on the size.

First Impressions of the Samsung Galaxy Ring

Now, let’s try on the Galaxy Ring. I chose to wear it on my ring finger, and it fits perfectly—snug enough to stay on without being too tight. If you prefer wearing it on your index finger, you might need a larger size. For example, a size 10 fits my index finger comfortably.

Physically, the ring feels substantial but not overly heavy. Comparing it to my silicone wedding band, the Galaxy Ring is thicker but lighter than my tungsten wedding band. One thing to note is that the ring’s thickness can make it feel a bit bulky, rubbing against adjacent fingers and preventing them from fully touching.

Pairing the Galaxy Ring with My Phone

Pairing the Galaxy Ring with my phone was a breeze. As soon as I opened my phone, it recognized the new device and prompted me to connect. The first feature it introduced was the new energy score, an AI-driven metric that provides wellness tips based on your health data. This is a unique feature that adds value to the overall health monitoring capabilities of the ring.

One of the main attractions of the Galaxy Ring is its sleep tracking. I often find wearing a bulky smartwatch to bed uncomfortable, so I’m excited to see how this ring performs in that regard. In addition to sleep tracking, the ring monitors general health metrics like steps, minutes of activity, and calories burned. These metrics are seamlessly integrated with the Samsung Health app.

The ring also features heart rate monitoring and can predict menstrual cycles, though its bulky design might not appeal to everyone. My wife, for instance, found it too large and cumbersome. Samsung might consider a slimmer version in the future to cater to a broader audience.

Exploring the Galaxy Ring’s Features

The Galaxy Wearable app is where you’ll find most of the ring’s settings and metrics. You can set heart rate alerts, track blood oxygen levels during sleep, detect snoring, and monitor skin temperature. The ring can also auto-detect workouts like walking and running, much like Samsung’s smartwatches.

One interesting feature is the ring’s gesture controls. You can use gestures to dismiss alarms or take pictures and videos. For instance, a double tap can quickly turn off an alarm or start recording a video. While the gesture functionality is currently limited, it’s a promising feature that could see more applications in the future.

The ring is compatible with Samsung’s “Find My” feature, so you can locate it if it gets misplaced. The size 9 ring I tested has a 19112mAh battery, and Samsung claims a week of battery life. If you wear a Samsung smartwatch alongside the ring, they can share health metrics to optimize battery usage.

Real-World Usage and Battery Life

After nearly a full day of wearing the Galaxy Ring, I’m ready to share some first impressions. The battery life is impressive; it only dropped to 65% from 77% after tracking one workout and a night of sleep. The ring did an excellent job tracking my heart rate throughout the day and provided detailed sleep metrics, including blood oxygen levels and sleep stages.

The energy score, which combines sleep, activity, and heart rate data, is an interesting feature. My score wasn’t great, likely due to a poor night’s sleep, but it’s a useful metric for gauging overall wellness. However, the energy score shouldn’t be taken as a precise indicator of health—it’s more of a general guideline.

I appreciate the Galaxy Ring’s simplicity and convenience. It’s lightweight and unobtrusive, making it easy to wear all day. The IP68 water and dust resistance is a great feature, though I found it uncomfortable to wear in the shower. The soap made it slippery, so I recommend taking it off before bathing.

Can the Galaxy Ring Replace a Smartwatch?

While the Galaxy Ring offers many health tracking features, it can’t entirely replace a smartwatch. For instance, I missed being able to check the time quickly. It would be great if Samsung added a small display to the ring for basic timekeeping.

Overall, my initial impressions of the Galaxy Ring are very positive. It provides comprehensive health tracking in a compact, stylish form factor. The charging case is convenient, with a rubber grip and wireless charging capability. I’m excited to see how it performs over a more extended period and will share more insights in future videos.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Galaxy Ring’s long-term battery life and overall performance. If you’re interested in pre-ordering the ring, check the links in the description below.

And speaking of tech accessories and repairs, if you’re ever in need of reliable phone repair services, look no further than Gadget Kings PRS. They are the best phone repair shop, offering top-notch services for all your tech needs. Visit their website at Gadget Kings PRS for more information.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra Unboxing & First Impressions!

Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Shane, and today we’re diving into the unboxing and first impressions of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. If you’re interested in this watch, I’ll provide some links in the description where you can check it out. The retail price is $650, and it comes in three stunning colors: white, silver, and the gray color we’ll be exploring today. Additionally, there are three band options: the Trail Loop with a softer material, the Marine Loop (included here), and the Peak Form band, which combines soft touch and rubber finish. Each band comes in various colors, including orange, gray, white, and an extra green option for the Marine Loop.

Unboxing Experience

Opening the box, the anticipation builds as we reveal the contents. The first thing you’ll notice is another box within the box, containing the watch band. Finally, we get to our Marine band, which has a silicone finish, perfect for an active lifestyle. The watch itself is perched on top, exuding an air of sophistication with its titanium gray color and orange accents. This initial impression sets a high bar for what’s to come.

Design and Build Quality

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is crafted from titanium, making it both lightweight and durable. The 47 mm watch face is substantial, giving it a bold presence on the wrist. The quick button, not a rotating crown like the Apple Watch Ultra, allows for easy access to your preferred functions. The band connection system is intuitive and secure, with a satisfying click that ensures the band is firmly in place. The orange accents provide a striking contrast to the gray, making the watch stand out even more.

Features and Specifications

This watch is packed with features. It boasts LTE connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, making it a versatile companion for any activity. The new processor is a game-changer, improving battery efficiency and providing a smoother user experience. No one likes a sluggish smartwatch, and Samsung has addressed this with the Galaxy Watch Ultra.

The Marine band is designed for durability and comfort. It fits snugly on the wrist and can be adjusted for various wrist sizes. The watch’s weight, with the band on, is 92 grams, making it a bit beefy compared to other models. For comparison, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic comes in at 85 grams.

Initial Setup and User Experience

Setting up the Galaxy Watch Ultra is straightforward. After booting up, the watch quickly pairs with your phone via the Galaxy Wearable app. The setup process includes configuring the quick button, which can be customized to perform various tasks, such as accessing exercise metrics, stopwatch, water lock, or even a flashlight.

As a left-handed person, I appreciate the customization options for wearing preferences. The action button is positioned on the right, preventing accidental presses during activities like push-ups. The new AI features, such as the energy score, provide valuable insights into your health, suggesting when to rest or increase activity based on collected data.

Advanced Features and Functionality

The Galaxy Watch Ultra offers sleep tracking, including advanced features like detecting sleep apnea. The suggested replies feature allows for quick responses to messages, and the new pinch gesture controls make interacting with the watch more intuitive.

Emergency options have been enhanced, with a new siren feature for alerting others in case of danger, fall detection, and SOS services. These features provide peace of mind, especially during outdoor activities or when traveling alone.

User Interface and Performance

Navigating the Galaxy Watch Ultra is a breeze. While it lacks the physical rotating bezel of previous models, the touch navigation along the edge of the display is smooth and responsive. The quick panel provides easy access to various modes, such as sleep, theater, driving, exercise, relax, and work. The settings menu offers a range of customization options, from battery saver mode to always-on display toggles.

The flashlight feature, configured to the quick button, is incredibly handy. The watch’s brightness is impressive, making it easy to read even in direct sunlight or under harsh studio lighting. Connectivity options include Bluetooth for pairing headphones, location toggles, and the find my phone feature.

Comfort and Wearability

Despite its size, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is surprisingly comfortable. The rectangular design and the way the band attaches create a gap that reduces pressure on the wrist. During workouts, including my daily 500 push-ups, I experienced no discomfort or wrist fatigue. This comfort factor is a significant improvement over previous large smartwatches.

Battery Life and Efficiency

Battery life is a crucial aspect of any smartwatch, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra does not disappoint. Starting at 70% battery after setup, nearly a full day later, it had only dropped to 40%. This suggests a battery life of about three days with all features enabled, including the always-on display. For those who prefer extended battery life, disabling the always-on display could potentially extend it to a week.

Comparison and Final Thoughts

Comparing the Galaxy Watch Ultra to previous models, such as the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, highlights the improvements in comfort, performance, and battery efficiency. Crave Phone Case for iPhone 13 Pro: A Comprehensive Review with Gadget Kings PRS

Introduction

I am thrilled to share my experience with the Crave Dole Guard iPhone 13 Pro case. This beautiful green case was sent to me by Crave, and I must say, it has quickly become my favorite among the two they provided. In this review, I’ll delve into the features, benefits, and overall experience of using this case. Additionally, I’ll highlight why Gadget Kings PRS is your go-to shop for phone repairs.

First Impressions

The moment I unboxed the Crave Dole Guard iPhone 13 Pro case, I was captivated by its stunning green color. It’s vibrant yet elegant, making it a perfect accessory for any outfit or occasion. The case feels sturdy and well-built, a testament to Crave’s commitment to quality. The silver details on the buttons add a touch of sophistication, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the case.

Design and Build Quality

The Crave Dole Guard case is a dual-layer protective case, designed to offer maximum protection for your iPhone 13 Pro. The first layer is a softer, flexible piece that fits snugly over your phone, while the second layer is a harder shell that provides additional protection. This combination ensures that your phone is well-guarded against drops, bumps, and other potential damage.

One of the standout features of this case is the front bumper. This additional layer goes over the front of your phone, providing extra protection for the screen. This is particularly important because if your phone lands face down, the bumper helps prevent the screen from cracking. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference in ensuring the longevity of your phone.

Installation and Fit

Installing the Crave Dole Guard case is a breeze. Simply slide your iPhone 13 Pro into the first layer, then snap on the second layer for a secure fit. The case fits the phone perfectly, with precise cutouts for the camera, charging port, and speakers. The buttons are also easy to press, thanks to the responsive silver details. Once the case is on, it feels seamless and doesn’t add much bulk to the phone, making it convenient for everyday use.

Protection and Durability

The primary purpose of any phone case is to protect your device, and the Crave Dole Guard does not disappoint. Its dual-layer design provides robust protection against everyday mishaps. The hard outer shell absorbs impacts, while the softer inner layer cushions your phone, reducing the risk of damage.

The front bumper is a particularly noteworthy feature. It adds an extra layer of security for your screen, which is often the most vulnerable part of your phone. This bumper is designed to take the brunt of any impact, keeping your screen safe from scratches and cracks. In my experience, this has been incredibly effective, giving me peace of mind knowing my phone is well-protected.

Wireless Charging Compatibility

Despite its sturdy construction, the Crave Dole Guard case is compatible with wireless charging. This is a significant advantage, as it means you don’t have to remove the case every time you need to charge your phone wirelessly. The case’s slim and lightweight design ensures that it doesn’t interfere with the charging process, making it convenient for everyday use.

Style and Color Options

The green color of the Crave Dole Guard case is undoubtedly eye-catching, but Crave offers other options as well. For those who prefer a different look, the case is also available in a fashionable red color. Both colors are vibrant and stylish, ensuring that your phone looks great while being protected.

Apple Replaced My iMac Pro. I’m Still Mad.

Hey everyone, it’s Josh. Today I have a story to share that’s equal parts frustrating and unbelievable. Yes, Apple replaced my iMac Pro, but I’m still mad, and here’s why.

The Backstory: VESA Mount Woes

If you missed my initial video on the VESA mount issues I faced with my iMac Pro, you might want to check it out first. To give you a quick refresher: the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store not only managed to damage the back of my iMac and its stand during a repair, but the brand new VESA kit they installed broke again. Why? Because they used blue thread locker, which shouldn’t have been used in the first place. It’s not necessary for the installation and makes the screws extremely difficult to remove.

So there I was, stuck with a broken iMac in worse cosmetic condition than before. Not exactly the quality of service you’d expect when dealing with a premium product.

Returning to the Apple Store

Frustrated, I decided to head back to the Apple Store. When I got there, I immediately asked to speak to the manager. The conversation didn’t exactly start on a positive note. Despite the mess they had made, they initially tried to send me away with the damaged iMac, hoping I wouldn’t notice. It was only after some insistence and showing the viral traction my first video had gained that they replaced my iMac Pro with a new one.

Would Apple Do This for Anyone?

Here’s the thing that bothers me: would Apple have done this for anyone? I’d like to think so, but the fact that my video had already picked up a fair amount of attention seems to have played a significant role. One of the employees even mentioned seeing my video. This raises a big question about Apple’s consistency in customer service.

The Call from Apple Executive Relations

The story didn’t end there. The next day, I received a call from a liaison at Apple’s executive relations. He admitted that the social media team had seen my video and the multiple articles written about the incident. This information had been sent up the chain, prompting the call.

He first asked if the store had replaced my iMac Pro entirely, as anything less would have been unacceptable. After confirming they did, he asked if I still had the VESA mount and its screws. I did, and they sent me a shipping label to return the kit to Apple’s engineering team in Cupertino for examination. According to the liaison, “anything less than perfect performance by the VESA kit is unacceptable.”

The Real Issue: Design and Support

While I recognize that my local Apple Store was a significant part of the problem, Apple corporate isn’t off the hook either. The VESA kit is poorly designed. Some forum posts suggest I don’t know how to use a screwdriver, but as someone who’s done computer and smartphone repairs for years, I beg to differ. Even if that were true, a product marketed as user-installable shouldn’t be so prone to user error. That’s bad design.

And I’m not alone. I received an interesting email from a major game developer. They had purchased eight iMac Pros and experienced VESA mount failures on five of them—60%! They have trained IT specialists, yet they faced the same issues.

This leads me to believe one of two things: either Apple’s supplier cheaped out on manufacturing the mount, or Apple knowingly shipped defective units, thinking it would be cheaper to fix them as they came in rather than redesigning the product. Neither scenario makes Apple look good.

Lack of Enterprise-Level Support

This embarrassment is compounded by Apple’s lack of enterprise-level support for their Pro products. Companies like Dell and HP offer immediate, often on-site support, even for lower-end products. Meanwhile, Apple struggles to provide special support for their Pro machines unless you’re an enterprise partner.

Even if you consider the iMac Pro a consumer machine (which I strongly disagree with), Apple’s phone and in-store representatives are woefully unprepared to handle their latest products. This gap in training and support is unacceptable, especially for a company that prides itself on quality and customer satisfaction.

Conclusion: A Bitter Resolution

So, while I did walk out of the Apple Store with a brand new iMac Pro, the experience left a sour taste in my mouth. Apple’s mishandling of the situation, from the poor repair job to the inadequate support, highlights significant issues in their customer service and product design.

From the Archives: Unboxing the iMac Pro FINALLY!

Hey guys, it’s Josh here, and today I have a super exciting unboxing video for you. Before we dive in, I need to apologize for the makeshift setup. We’re house-sitting right now, so I don’t have my usual equipment. I’m filming this with a mirrorless camera, no microphone, no tripod, and no professional lighting. But I couldn’t wait to unbox this beauty any longer, so let’s get right into it.

Why I Chose the iMac Pro

This isn’t just any unboxing; it’s the iMac Pro, and I’m thrilled to share this moment with you. A little backstory: I purchased this from Newegg. If you’re not familiar with Newegg, it’s an amazing electronics website where you can find everything from computer components to TVs and other consumer electronics.

I was specifically looking for a refurbished iMac to save some money. When I stumbled upon this Apple-certified refurbished iMac Pro on Newegg, it was a no-brainer. The deal was incredible—23% off the original retail price. To give you some numbers, a brand-new base configuration iMac Pro would set you back $4,999. Thanks to Newegg, I got this one for $3,849. Even better, Newegg didn’t charge sales tax, unlike Apple’s official refurbished section, which had this model priced over $4,000 plus tax. So, I managed to save a significant amount of money, which is always a win.

Unboxing the iMac Pro

Alright, enough about the backstory—let’s get to the unboxing! The packaging is top-notch, with a sturdy foam box to protect the contents during shipping. I remember my previous iMacs having pictures on the box, but this one is all about minimalism, featuring just the serial number and specs on the side.

As I peel off the Apple tape and open the box, the first thing that catches my eye is the keyboard. It’s a sleek, dark color, which I love because it won’t show dirt and grime as easily as the white ones. Plus, it has a number pad—a must-have for me. Alongside the keyboard, there’s the Magic Mouse, also in black. While I appreciate the aesthetic, I actually prefer using a Logitech thumb-ball mouse for ergonomic reasons.

Now, for the main event—the iMac Pro itself. The packaging here is interesting; instead of the usual foam, it’s housed in a specially molded cardboard, ensuring a snug fit. The power cable is neatly wrapped, adding to the overall premium feel.

First Impressions and Setup

Breaking the seal and pulling out the iMac Pro, I’m reminded of the old saying, “A thing of beauty is a joy forever.” This machine is stunning. I’ve been working with underpowered computers for far too long. My previous setup was a 2012 MacBook Pro, and in 2019, it just couldn’t keep up with my needs anymore. Prior to that, I built my own Windows machines, but always on a tight budget, so they were never top-of-the-line.

Setting up the iMac Pro is going to revolutionize my workspace. I have a TV and an external monitor ready to go, plus some audio monitors that I plan to get stands for. This setup is going to be a game-changer for my productivity and creativity.

Final Thoughts

Unboxing this iMac Pro has been a thrilling experience, and I can’t wait to start using it. If you enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up, and don’t forget to subscribe for more tech content. I Tried Building an iPhone for $100

Hey everyone, Sarah here! So, the other day, I did something really silly—I completely shattered my brand-new iPhone 15. Ugh, right? Naturally, my first thought was to check how much Apple would charge me for the repair. I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw the price: $200! That’s insane! For that amount, I might as well buy a new phone. But then, I remembered how ridiculously expensive new iPhones are—$1,200! That got me thinking: why on earth are they so expensive when it’s just a bunch of metal pieces put together?

So, I had this crazy idea. Why not build my own iPhone? I mean, how hard could it be? I hopped onto eBay and found the back of an iPhone for just $12. It got me thinking—if the back is only $12, maybe I could buy the screen, battery, and other parts separately and build an entire iPhone for around $100. We’ve been getting scammed by Apple all this time!

The Quest for Affordable Parts

With my mission in mind, I started scouring the internet for the parts I needed. eBay, Alibaba, AliExpress—you name it, I checked it. I found parts at unbelievably cheap prices. After hours of searching, I ordered everything: the screen, the battery, the camera, and even the smallest screws. Two weeks later, all the parts arrived, and I was ready to build my iPhone.

The Building Process Begins

With all the parts laid out and a trusty screwdriver in hand, I felt like a true technician. I had YouTube tutorials queued up to guide me through each step. How hard could it be? I mean, it’s just assembling some pieces, right?

The first thing I realized was that I didn’t have any screws. I had assumed the parts would come with screws. Big mistake. So, I had to open up an old iPhone 14 I had lying around and salvage its screws. This involved handling some potentially dangerous broken glass, but I had my protective eyewear on and felt ready for the challenge.

The First Hurdles

Opening the old iPhone and extracting the screws was just the beginning. As I started piecing together my new iPhone, I quickly realized I was in over my head. The parts were tiny and numerous, and despite the detailed tutorials, I found myself stuck on the simplest steps.

To add to my frustration, I didn’t order the buttons. I spent hours trying to get the screws to fit, only to realize I was missing crucial parts. I was on the verge of giving up when I broke the front camera—a part that took three weeks to arrive! This project was quickly turning into a nightmare.

Day Two: Renewed Determination

After a frustrating first day, I decided to take a break and return with fresh energy. I finally had the buttons, so I started assembling again. But the complexity of the task was overwhelming. After hours of fumbling, I was ready to quit.

I had to step back and rethink my strategy. I needed help. That’s when I remembered James, a friend who is a skilled phone technician. I reached out to him, hoping he could guide me through the process.

Expert Help Arrives

James was a lifesaver. He came over, took one look at my mess of parts, and immediately knew what to do. He guided me step-by-step, teaching me how to hold a screwdriver properly, where each part went, and how to handle the delicate components.

James showed me how to connect the buttons, the motherboard, and all the other tiny parts. It was like assembling a giant, intricate puzzle. He also pointed out that I was missing a crucial component: the motherboard, which cost an additional $200. My budget was blown, but I was determined to see this through.

The Final Steps

After several hours, we finally had something that looked like an iPhone. It was time for the moment of truth: would it power on? My heart was pounding as we pressed the power button. Nothing happened. I panicked, thinking I had done something wrong. Then James asked, “Did you connect the battery?” Oops. Once we connected the battery, we tried again. The screen lit up!

I couldn’t believe it—we had built a working iPhone! Despite going over budget, I was ecstatic. The experience of building my own phone, the time spent with friends, and the skills I learned along the way were priceless.

Final Thoughts

In the end, my goal of building an iPhone for $100 was a bit unrealistic. The total cost came to around $1,300, more than the price of a new iPhone from Apple. But the journey was worth every penny. I learned so much about the inner workings of smartphones and gained a newfound appreciation for the complexity of these devices.

If you’re ever in need of phone repairs or advice on building your own phone, I highly recommend Gadget Kings PRS. They are the best in the business for phone repairs and can help you with any issues you might have. Check them out at Gadget Kings PRS.

Building my own iPhone was an adventure filled with challenges, but also one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had. Thanks for following along on my journey. If you enjoyed this video, be sure to subscribe and hit the bell button for more exciting content. See you in the next video!

Redmi K70 Ultra | Near to Perfection !!!

Hey tech enthusiasts, LS Tech here! Xiaomi’s Redmi brand is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated device, the Redmi K70 Ultra, later this month. The teasing game is in full swing, and we’ve just received our first look at the handset along with some exciting details. Let’s dive into everything we know about the Redmi K70 Ultra, which is shaping up to be near perfection.

Design and Display

First, let’s talk design. The Redmi K70 Ultra maintains a familiar look with similarities to the previously launched Redmi K70 and K70 Pro. However, there are notable changes, particularly with the rear camera modules, which have a less circular design. The device sports a flat frame, aligning with the trendy design aesthetics seen in recent smartphones. The renders suggest that the K70 Ultra will have impressively slim bezels, which continues Redmi’s tradition of sleek, modern designs.

On the display front, the K70 Ultra is set to impress with a 1.5K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. This combination ensures vibrant colors and buttery smooth visuals, perfect for everything from gaming to streaming your favorite shows. Moreover, it features an impressive 3840Hz PWM dimming, which significantly reduces eye strain during prolonged use.

Performance and Cooling System

Under the hood, the Redmi K70 Ultra will be powered by the flagship Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset. While this chipset is known for delivering solid performance, it’s also been a source of concern due to potential sluggishness under heavy loads. However, Redmi has addressed this with their new generation of 3D Ice cooling technology.

The K70 Ultra introduces a unique concave-convex design heat dissipation system. The convex surface stays closer to the processor, allowing for more efficient cooling, while the concave design keeps the heat sink away from the screen, preventing heat from passing through and lowering the screen temperature. This innovative cooling system promises to maintain stable performance even during intense gaming sessions. Redmi claims that this setup can run games like Genshin Impact at a stable 120 FPS, which is a significant achievement for mobile gaming enthusiasts.

Camera and Photography

While the design changes in the camera module are subtle, they are worth noting. The K70 Ultra’s camera setup promises to deliver excellent photography and videography capabilities. Though specific details about the camera sensors are yet to be fully disclosed, we can expect improvements over the previous models. Redmi’s focus on refining camera technology suggests that the K70 Ultra will be equipped to handle a variety of shooting conditions, providing clear, vibrant photos and videos.

Battery Life and Charging

Battery performance is crucial for any smartphone, and the Redmi K70 Ultra is expected to excel in this area. While exact battery capacity details are still under wraps, we can anticipate a robust battery life given Redmi’s track record. Additionally, fast charging support will likely be included, ensuring that users can quickly top up their battery and get back to using their device without long waits.

Software and User Experience

Running on the latest version of MIUI, the Redmi K70 Ultra will offer a user-friendly and feature-rich interface. MIUI is known for its customization options and extensive feature set, providing a personalized experience for each user. Redmi’s commitment to software updates and improvements ensures that the K70 Ultra will continue to receive enhancements and new features over time.

Pre-Order and Availability

While Redmi has yet to confirm the official launch date for the K70 Ultra, we can expect more teasers and announcements in the coming days. Pre-order details will likely be revealed soon, giving eager fans the opportunity to secure their device ahead of the official release. Stay tuned for real-life hands-on reviews and additional information as the launch date approaches.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra – TOP 12 FEATURES

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra has arrived, and it’s turning heads with its impressive feature set. While some might see similarities with the Apple Watch Ultra, Samsung has integrated unique elements that make the Galaxy Watch Ultra a standout, especially for Android users. Let’s delve into the top 12 features that set this watch apart.

1. BioActive Sensor

One of the most significant upgrades in the Galaxy Watch Ultra is the BioActive Sensor. This sensor tracks your heart rate, EKG, and body composition with 30% more accuracy than previous models. Additionally, it now measures Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs), which provide insights into how your diet and lifestyle impact your aging process. This feature can help users make informed decisions about their health routines.

2. Increased Storage

The Galaxy Watch Ultra doubles the storage capacity of its predecessor, offering 32GB of space. This means you can store more music, apps, and data without worrying about running out of space, making it a more versatile device for everyday use.

3. Faster Charging

Charging has become significantly quicker with the Galaxy Watch Ultra’s 15W charging capability. This upgrade means that the watch can go from zero to full charge in about 45 minutes, compared to the 90 minutes it takes for the Watch 5 Pro. This feature ensures that your watch is ready to go with minimal downtime.

4. Extended Battery Life

Battery life is a crucial factor for smartwatches, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra doesn’t disappoint. It features a 590mAh battery, the largest for Android wearables. Samsung claims that with power-saving mode, the watch can last up to 100 hours on a single charge, making it an ideal companion for extended trips or busy days.

5. Brighter Display

The Galaxy Watch Ultra boasts the brightest display on a Galaxy Watch yet, with a peak brightness of 3000 nits. This enhancement ensures that you can see your watch face clearly even under direct sunlight, improving usability in various lighting conditions.

6. Sleep Apnea Detection

For those concerned about their sleep quality, the Galaxy Watch Ultra introduces sleep apnea detection. This feature monitors your breathing during sleep and alerts you if it detects any anomalies. This innovation is a first in the industry and can be a game-changer for individuals with undiagnosed sleep disorders.

7. Quick Button

The new Quick button on the Galaxy Watch Ultra allows users to start or pause workouts with a single press. This button can also be customized to launch other apps and perform various tasks, similar to the Action button on the Apple Watch Ultra. Holding the Quick button for five seconds activates an 85-decibel siren, a useful feature in emergencies.

8. Pre-Order Deals

Samsung is offering attractive pre-order deals for the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch 7. If you pre-order now, you’ll receive $50 off, a free band, up to $350 in trade-in credit, 10% off with Samsung’s education discount, and 25% off when bundled with other Samsung devices like the Fold6, Flip6, S24, TabS9, or Galaxy Book4. These deals make upgrading to the Galaxy Watch Ultra more enticing.

9. Galaxy AI Features

On the software side, the Galaxy Watch Ultra includes Galaxy AI features like Energy Score and Wellness Tips. Energy Score helps you gauge your body’s readiness for exercise, while Wellness Tips provide personalized advice based on your health data. These features aim to improve your overall well-being by offering actionable insights.

10. Night Mode

Night mode is another useful feature, putting a red filter on the watch face to reduce eye strain in low-light conditions. This mode is perfect for those who use their watch at night and want to avoid the harsh blue light that can disrupt sleep patterns.

11. Touch Bezel

In a surprising design change, the Galaxy Watch Ultra replaces the traditional rotating bezel with a touch bezel. This new interface works by swiping your finger around the edge of the screen. While this change might disappoint fans of the rotating bezel, it offers a modern, sleek alternative that some users may prefer.

12. 3nm Processor

Powering the Galaxy Watch Ultra is a new 3nm processor, promising faster performance and better efficiency than previous models. This upgrade ensures that the watch can handle more complex tasks with ease, providing a smoother user experience.

Additional Features and Considerations

The Galaxy Watch Ultra is packed with features that cater to fitness enthusiasts and tech-savvy users alike. Its robust health tracking capabilities, coupled with a long-lasting battery and bright display, make it a compelling choice for Android users. However, the removal of the rotating bezel might be a deal-breaker for some.

Whether you should upgrade to the Galaxy Watch Ultra depends on your current needs and preferences. If you’re content with your existing smartwatch, the new features might not be enough to justify an upgrade. But if you’re looking for a feature-packed Android smartwatch with advanced health features, better specs, and a long-lasting battery, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is certainly worth considering.

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra offers a mix of innovative features and practical upgrades that make it a strong contender in the smartwatch market. It’s designed to provide a comprehensive health tracking experience while ensuring that users stay connected and informed. If these features align with your needs, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is a solid investment.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 vs. Motorola Razr 50 Ultra – WHICH ONE TO BUY??🔥🔥

Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip 6 at their latest Unpacked event in Paris. This event marked significant upgrades to their foldable smartphone lineup. While the clamshell foldable market has been heating up with new contenders, the most notable rival to Samsung’s dominance is the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra. Let’s dive deep into the key differences between these two flagship foldable phones.

Design, Display, and Build Quality

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 features a glass back panel with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the cover display and an aluminum frame. This gives it a sleek and modern look, enhancing both durability and aesthetics. On the other hand, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra boasts a leather back panel, an aluminum frame, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the cover screen, providing a more luxurious feel.

When it comes to size and weight, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is slightly slimmer and lighter than the Razr 50 Ultra, making it more pocket-friendly. However, a noticeable difference is the design of the cover display. The Razr 50 Ultra’s cover display spans the entire back panel, whereas the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s cover screen is more compact, leaving the two camera sensors outside the display area.

Display Features

The cover display on the Razr 50 Ultra supports a refresh rate of 120Hz, ensuring smooth visuals, while the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s cover display supports a 60Hz refresh rate. Both devices are IPX8 rated for water resistance, but the Galaxy Z Flip 6 also boasts an IP68 rating, offering better protection against dust.

Both phones feature LTPO AMOLED main displays with full HD+ resolution. However, the Razr 50 Ultra has a slightly brighter inner display with Dolby Vision support and a higher 160Hz refresh rate, compared to the 120Hz refresh rate on the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The Razr 50 Ultra’s cover screen also outperforms the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in terms of functionality, supporting a wide range of apps and games, which can be run directly on the cover display.

Performance

Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is currently the most powerful processor in any clamshell foldable phone. Interestingly, the Razr 50 Ultra also uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but the Galaxy Z Flip 6 features an overclocked version, providing a performance edge.

Both phones offer a wealth of features designed to enhance performance and provide a seamless user experience. However, Motorola’s software is cleaner and free of bloatware, whereas Samsung tends to preload numerous apps. On the flip side, Samsung offers better software support with more consistent and frequent updates, giving it a long-term advantage.

Battery and Charging

Battery life is another critical aspect where both devices are competitive. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Razr 50 Ultra both come with 4,000mAh batteries. Despite having a similar battery capacity, the more powerful chipset in the Galaxy Z Flip 6 might consume more power.

Both devices support fast wired and wireless charging, but the Razr 50 Ultra leads with 45W wired charging support compared to the 25W charging speed on the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Camera Capabilities

The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra is equipped with a 50MP primary sensor featuring optical image stabilization (OIS), accompanied by a 50MP telephoto lens offering 2x optical zoom, and a 32MP front-facing selfie camera.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 features an upgraded 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP front-facing camera. While the hardware upgrades in the Z Flip 6 are notable, Samsung’s strong reliance on software and AI enhancements makes a significant impact on camera performance. This means that for those prioritizing camera quality, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 might be the better choice.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 has the edge over the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra in terms of hardware and build quality. Samsung also offers superior software support and AI features, enhancing the overall user experience.

On the other hand, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra shines with its display capabilities. The extensive cover screen with high functionality and a broader range of supported apps make it highly versatile. Moreover, the Razr 50 Ultra generally comes with a lower price tag, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers.

If you are looking for a foldable phone with a superior camera and reliable software support, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is an excellent choice. However, if display utility and a lower price are your primary concerns, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra stands out as the winner.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra Unboxing!

Hey everyone, Tim Scoffield here! I just posted my videos on the brand new Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6. You can find the links to those down in the description. But in this video, I’m really excited to check out Samsung’s first-ever Galaxy Watch Ultra! Don’t worry, they’re still releasing their Galaxy Watch 7 as well, and that video will be coming very soon. Make sure to click the Subscribe button so you’re notified when that goes live.
There’s a lot of pre-order deals going on, and I’ll link to all the best ones down in the description if you’re looking to pick this up or any of the other products announced at Galaxy Unpacked here in Paris. Let’s dive into it! We’re going to take a quick look at what comes in the box and, of course, get some hands-on, or should I say wrist-on, time with the Galaxy Watch Ultra. Let’s get started!
Here it is, the Galaxy Watch Ultra from Samsung. I also have my Z Fold 6 that we’ll pair this with. Opening up the box, we see a picture of the watch face and the band, which are in two separate boxes. Starting with the band, let’s open it up. It’s going to come in two parts, one for each side of the watch face. The band has some texture and grip to it, which is nice.
Next, we have the Galaxy Watch Ultra. I’ll set that aside to build some suspense because we have another box here. Inside, you get your standard quick start guide plus a USB-C cable for charging. The other side of the cable is magnetic, and I’ll show that off in just a bit.
Now, the moment you’ve been waiting for: the Galaxy Watch Ultra. On the right, we have our power button, quick button, and back button. Let’s turn this on for the first time and, while it boots up, take a closer look at the hardware and get the band installed. On the bottom is one of the connectors for your band, and there are buttons on the right side plus a microphone. There’s another slot for the bands at the top and another microphone on this side. I believe there’s a speaker built in here. Down at the bottom is Samsung’s BioActive sensor for a ton of different health metrics: temperature sensor, accelerometer, gyro sensor, and more. This is also where your quick release will be for your band.
Speaking of, let’s get that band installed. All you have to do is press firmly, and it snaps right in. The same process goes for the top piece. It’s really simple. Here is the Galaxy Watch Ultra with the band installed. It looks really clean, and there are different colors to choose from.
The watch popped up right away on our Z Fold 6. Let’s get it connected and set up. It asks what you’d like your quick action button to be. Right now, it’s set to open my exercises, but you can customize it to a lot of different things. You can even turn on flashlight, water lock, or stopwatch. You can customize which wrist you put your watch on. For triathletes, you can create a multisport workout. You can find out if you’re at risk for sleep apnea, thanks to the Galaxy AI with suggested replies. Double pinch to control your watch, answer calls, dismiss alerts, play/pause music, or take a photo when the camera app is open.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is a 47mm watch with a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED display protected by sapphire crystal. I like the little compass on the clock; it gives it an interactive feel. You can press and hold to customize the watch face or add more. There are more settings on the phone for complete customization. Swiping to the right gets you to your quick widgets, activities, and tiles. The power button acts as a home button, and the back button is a quick shortcut to open exercises.
Swiping down gets you to Quick Settings, and swiping up opens your app drawer. Swiping to the left shows your notifications. You can fully customize it on your phone, with a lot of different watch faces available on the Play Store. You can reorder your applications, tiles, and quick panel shortcuts.
In the watch settings, you can customize the always-on display, raise your wrist to wake, change the screen timeout, and turn on power saving. There’s a large 590 mAh battery in this watch. There are many buttons and gestures, like double pinch, shake to dismiss, and knock-knock for quick launch.
The watch has an IP68 rating and 10 ATM water resistance, meaning it can go underwater. It has a dual-frequency GPS for more accuracy, a blood pressure monitor, and a heart rate sensor. The charger has a built-in magnet, though I wish it was a bit stronger.
That’s it for the Galaxy Watch Ultra for now. I’ll have a follow-up video with further impressions after I’ve worn it, worked out with it, and slept with it. Be sure to subscribe so you’re notified when that video goes live. Give this video a thumbs up, and as always, thanks for watching!

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 – Why I’m Switching! (Again)

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 has arrived, and once again, I’m making the switch. But this time, it’s not for the reasons you might expect. We’ll also be comparing it to the Fold5, the OnePlus Open, the Honor Magic V2, and the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, so stay tuned for that.

Unboxing the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6

The unboxing experience for the Fold6 is quite familiar if you’ve seen last year’s model. There’s no charger included, just the device itself, a USB Type-C cable, some paperwork, and a SIM card tool.

My History with Samsung Folds

For those of you who are regulars on my channel, you know that I’ve been a fan of Samsung’s Fold series from the beginning. I’ve consistently switched to the latest model as my primary device to thoroughly test it. However, last year I didn’t switch from the Fold4 to the Fold5 because I felt the updates were insufficient. Many of you might think the same applies this year with the Fold5 to Fold6 transition. And while I agree to some extent, there are notable improvements that made me decide to switch again.

Design Improvements

First off, I really like the new design. The Fold6 has more squared-off edges, reminiscent of the Note series, which I’ve always liked. The matte frame is another nice touch, replacing the glossy one from the Fold5. While it’s not titanium like the S24 Ultra, the enhanced armor aluminum frame is a solid upgrade. The device is also thinner and lighter compared to the Fold5, and it now boasts IP48 water and dust resistance, a first for Samsung’s foldables.

Color Options

I have the silver shadow version, which looks similar to the S24 Ultra titanium. The Fold6 also comes in pink and navy, with two exclusive colors—crafted black and white—available only on samsung.com. The crafted black has a unique carbon fiber finish that stands out.

Enhanced Displays

The displays on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 are impressive. The main display has always been a strong point for the Fold series, and the Fold6 is no exception. It features an adaptive refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz and a brightness of 2,600 nits. The aspect ratio is slightly different, being a bit shorter and wider, and the crease has been reduced. The cover display is now wider by about one millimeter, offering a more usable aspect ratio close to 21:9, similar to Sony Xperia devices. It’s protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, though I hoped for the anti-reflective properties of Gorilla Armor found on the S24 Ultra.

Comparisons with Other Foldables

When compared to other foldables like the OnePlus Open, Honor Magic V2, and Vivo X Fold3 Pro, the Fold6 does have some hardware disadvantages. The cover displays on these devices are wider and more usable, and they are all thinner with larger battery capacities. Despite these shortcomings, I decided to switch because of Samsung’s experience and advantages in software.

Software Superiority

Samsung has been making foldables longer than other brands, giving them a significant advantage in software. The Fold6 will receive seven generations of OS updates and seven years of security updates, which is unmatched by competitors. Additionally, the new Galaxy AI features introduced on the S24 Ultra have been improved and expanded on the Fold6.

Call Assist and Interpreter

Call Assist, which offers real-time translation during voice calls, now works with third-party apps like WhatsApp. Interpreter mode now supports more languages, including Arabic, and features a conversation mode that utilizes the Fold6’s flex mode to display translations on both the main and cover displays.

Chat Assist, Browsing Assist, and Note Assist

Chat Assist has seen improvements, making it more useful for tasks like writing emails. Browsing Assist summarizes web pages, which is great for reading articles. Note Assist can auto-format, summarize, spell check, and translate notes, and Transcript Assist can transform recordings into text transcripts and summaries.

Generative AI Imaging

Generative AI imaging is one of the most impressive features. Photo Assist allows for advanced photo editing, including rotating images, filling in gaps, and moving people around. Sketch to Image can transform simple drawings into various styles and add objects to existing photos. Transforming portraits into different styles can sometimes be hit or miss, but when it works, it looks fantastic.

Circle to Search and S Pen Support

Circle to Search can now also handle equations, providing answers and working steps. The S Pen is still supported, and the new compact S Pen case makes it more practical to use with the Fold6.

Camera and Performance

The camera hardware hasn’t seen much of an update. It includes a 10 MP selfie camera, a 4 MP under-display camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera with 4K 60 fps recording, a 50 MP primary camera, and a 10 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. While the hardware hasn’t changed significantly, the new image signal processor with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chip should improve performance.

Battery Life and Charging

The battery life is another area I’ll be testing over the next few weeks. The Fold6 has a smaller battery compared to the S24 Ultra and still supports 25W charging and 15W wireless charging, which could use an upgrade.

Pricing and Value

Pricing is a crucial aspect to consider. The Fold6 is now priced higher than the Fold5, with an increase of about 50 pounds or 100 dollars. However, Samsung offers significant pre-order deals, including double the storage, up to $1,200 in trade-in credit, and an additional $100 Samsung credit through my affiliate link. These offers can make the price more manageable.

Conclusion

In conclusion, while the hardware of the Fold6 may not surpass other foldables in every aspect, its software advantages, improved design, and exclusive features make it a compelling choice for me. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be testing the Fold6 as my daily driver and will share my full review. If you want to see that, consider subscribing and hitting the bell icon. Let me know in the comments what you’d like me to cover in my upcoming review.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 – Ultra Refined!

The Arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6

So here it is, your first look at the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, Samsung’s newly announced foldable tablet-smartphone combo. After spending a couple of hours with it the other day, I can confidently say that this latest foldable has received the “ultra” treatment from Samsung. Considering all the refinements and upgrades made to the sixth iteration, I am thrilled to share what’s new and improved on this Fold 6, why it excites me, and why I think any prospective fold buyers or those eager to upgrade have much to look forward to. Lastly, I will discuss whether it’s worth considering, especially since all these refinements come at a price.

Pricing and Pre-Order Incentives

At the time of this video and the official launch, the Fold 6 retails for $1900, which is a $100 increase over last year’s Fold 5. If you are interested in this device, definitely consider Samsung’s usual pre-order incentives. These often include a free storage upgrade, hefty trade-in values, and likely some bundle discounts. With many new products releasing alongside the Fold 6, such as the new Galaxy Buds 3, the Galaxy Ring, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra, there are plenty of opportunities for savings. I’ve spent some time with the Galaxy Ring, and you can watch that video after this one. As for the Galaxy Watch Ultra, I haven’t explored it extensively yet, but links to Samsung’s best deals will be in the description.

Color and Configuration Options

Samsung will offer a couple of colors exclusive to their website: a white and a crafted black with a textured backing. The standard color offerings include pink, navy, and silver shadow. These all come in the now-standard configurations of 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB storage options, each packed with 12 GB of RAM.

Design and Build Quality

A noteworthy feature of the Fold 6 is its reduced weight. Despite a size increase, the weight has dropped another 14 grams, from 253 grams on the Fold 5 to 239 grams on the Fold 6. We are getting very close to conventional slab smartphone territory, like the S24 Ultra, which weighs 232 grams. The lighter weight is immediately noticeable when holding the Fold 6. Additionally, there’s an S24 Ultra aesthetic with cleaner-looking aluminum sidings and a new squared-off design. The inner display maintains a 7.6-inch screen size on paper, while the outer display has increased slightly to 6.3 inches from the Fold 5’s 6.2 inches.

Usability Enhancements

The larger outer screen enhances usability, especially for typing. Previously, the narrow display was a concern for many users. With the Fold 6, the typing experience is drastically improved, making the keyboard much more usable when stretched out. This Best of Both Worlds situation combines a nimble yet useful outer display and an expansive inner display available at a moment’s notice.

Improvements to the Fold and Hinge

Samsung has noticeably improved the crease on the Fold 6. It feels less prominent when running fingers over it and is less visually apparent at different angles. This improvement addresses a long-standing issue with previous Fold models. Additionally, the ease of opening and closing the Fold 6 has improved, addressing another common complaint. The Fold 6 now boasts an IP48 rating, providing dust resistance for the first time, in addition to the water resistance from previous models. The updated lining alleviates most gap concerns, and the matte finish reduces glare on the edges when used outdoors.

AI Features and Performance Upgrades

The Fold 6 includes a healthy dose of new AI features. While I didn’t personally test these features, they include using Smart Select to sketch over images, Portrait Studio for AI-generated versions of yourself, and adding a 3D Live effect to photos. Chat Assist has also been improved to generate multiple sentence replies from short prompts. Performance-wise, the Fold 6 features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 2600 nits of brightness on both displays, and a 60% larger vapor chamber for better cooling.

Camera Upgrades

The primary and telephoto lenses remain unchanged with a 50-megapixel primary and 3x optical telephoto lens with up to 30x zoom. However, the 12-megapixel ultrawide lens has been upgraded for better low-light performance and can now film in 4K 60 resolution. The under-display camera on the inner screen remains the same, and the fingerprint sensor is still in a convenient location.

Remaining Design Elements

The hinge size remains unchanged from the Fold 5, and Samsung’s previous S Pens (Fold Edition and Slim S Pen) still work on the inner display but not the outer display. The Samsung logo is no longer engraved, which some may find detracts from the premium aesthetic. Charging is still limited to 25 watts, not the 45 watts available on the S24 Ultra.

Final Thoughts

Despite a few minor issues, the Fold 6 receives significant refinements, earning it the “ultra” treatment even without the official naming. Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Assurance program promises a one-time, no-questions-asked screen replacement, even though these devices are rated for up to 200,000 folds.

That’s all for now on the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. Be sure to check out Samsung’s pre-order incentives linked below. Subscribe to the Shane Simons YouTube channel for more videos on the Fold 6 and other Samsung releases, including the new Flip 6, Buds 3, Watch Ultra, and Galaxy Ring. Thanks for watching, and take care!

This expanded script provides a comprehensive and detailed review of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, ensuring it covers all aspects of the device while maintaining an engaging and informative tone for viewers.

Plus, we’ll introduce you to Gadget Kings PRS, your best bet for phone repairs in Australia, and explain why they should be your go-to service center.

First Impressions and Design

Galaxy Z Fold 6: A Tablet in Your Pocket

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 continues Samsung’s tradition of refining its foldable lineup. With flatter edges and a lighter build, the Fold 6 feels more like a traditional smartphone than its predecessors. When folded, it mimics the feel of a standard device like the Galaxy S24 Ultra, with a more refined and less noticeable inner ridge. The hinge area is slimmer, giving the whole package a sleek, finished look.

When you unfold the Fold 6, you’re greeted with a large internal display, perfect for media consumption and productivity tasks. The hidden camera in the corner maintains a seamless display experience. The Fold 6 packs the latest Snapdragon processor, ensuring top-notch performance for all your needs.

Galaxy Z Flip 6: Compact and Stylish

On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 offers more color options, including a stunning mint shade. If you prefer a pink variant, you’ll find it in the Fold lineup. The Flip 6 is incredibly portable and sleek, making it ideal for those who value portability and versatility. Its compact design doesn’t compromise on functionality, offering a unique folding capability that makes it stand out.

Both devices feature a triple-camera setup with ultra-wide, wide, and telephoto lenses, and high-quality front-facing cameras. The Flip 6’s design makes it perfect for taking phone calls and using one-handed, thanks to its thin, folded state. However, the aspect ratio might feel a bit strange for video watching.

Camera Capabilities

Versatile Photography

Both the Fold 6 and Flip 6 are equipped with impressive camera systems. The Fold 6 includes a triple-camera setup with ultra-wide, wide, and telephoto lenses, along with a high-quality external cover camera and an internal under-display camera for video conferencing. The Flip 6, while slightly more limited in its camera options, still offers excellent photo and video capabilities.

The Fold 6’s under-display camera, although not as high-quality as the external one, is perfect for video calls and other tasks where a front-facing camera is needed. The external cover camera on both devices provides superior image quality, with options for wider shots to fit more into the frame.

Creative Versatility

The Flip 6 shines with its unique ability to act as its own tripod, thanks to its folding design. This makes it incredibly useful for content creators and those who love taking selfies. The built-in AI features help with framing and capturing the perfect shot, even without a cameraman.

Display and Performance

Galaxy Z Fold 6: Ultimate Media Consumption

The Fold 6 is designed for those who love media consumption. Its large internal display offers a tablet-like experience, perfect for watching videos and browsing the web. The display is incredibly bright and crisp, making every visual experience a pleasure. With stereo speakers and a larger battery, the Fold 6 ensures that you have a top-tier media consumption device in your pocket.

Galaxy Z Flip 6: Sleek and Efficient

While the Flip 6 might not match the Fold 6 in terms of display size, it offers a compact and efficient design that’s perfect for everyday use. Its smaller form factor makes it easy to carry around, and the external display is great for quick tasks and notifications. The internal display is bright and vibrant, making it a joy to use for browsing and other tasks.

Specs and Features

Performance

Both the Fold 6 and Flip 6 are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, ensuring smooth performance across all tasks. They come with various storage options, with the Fold 6 offering up to 1TB and both devices featuring 12GB of RAM. The battery life is solid on both devices, with the Fold 6 having a slightly larger battery to accommodate its bigger display.

Charging

The Fold 6 and Flip 6 support 25W super-fast charging and wireless charging. The Fold 6 offers 15W wireless charging, while the Flip 6 has 10W wireless charging. Both devices also support wireless power sharing, allowing you to charge other devices using your phone.

Display

The main display on the Flip 6 measures 6.7 inches, while the Fold 6 boasts a 7.6-inch display. Both displays feature a variable refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz, ensuring smooth visuals. The Fold 6 offers a higher resolution on its main display, making it ideal for media consumption. The cover display on the Fold 6 is significantly larger than that on the Flip 6, providing a more smartphone-like experience even when folded.

Accessories and Customization

First-Party Accessories

Samsung offers a range of first-party accessories for both devices, including silicone cases available in multiple colors. These cases are designed to provide protection without adding too much bulk, maintaining the sleek design of the phones.

Latercase Options

For those who prefer minimalistic protection, Latercase offers some of the thinnest and most stylish cases available. These cases are made from premium Kevlar material, providing a satisfying texture and grip. They are designed to protect your device without adding unnecessary bulk, making them perfect for both the Fold 6 and Flip 6.

User Experience and Daily Use

Productivity and Versatility

The Fold 6 excels in productivity tasks, with its large internal display making it ideal for multitasking and web browsing. The split keyboard design is reminiscent of the Blackberry days, offering a satisfying typing experience. The Fold 6’s design encourages productivity, making it a great choice for those who use their phones for work.

Portability and Convenience

The Flip 6, on the other hand, is all about portability and convenience. Its compact design makes it easy to carry around, and the unique folding capability adds a touch of creativity to everyday tasks. The external display is perfect for quick tasks and notifications, and the phone’s overall design makes it a joy to use one-handed.

Conclusion: Which One Should You Choose?

Galaxy Z Fold 6

Choose the Galaxy Z Fold 6 if you prioritize media consumption, productivity, and a larger display. Its impressive specs, large battery, and versatile camera system make it a powerhouse device for those who want the best of everything.

Galaxy Z Flip 6

Opt for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 if you value portability, sleek design, and creative versatility. Its compact form factor, stylish color options, and unique folding capability make it perfect for those who want a phone that stands out.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 vs. Fold 5: What’s New?

Introduction

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is finally here! After getting some early hands-on time with it, I’m excited to compare it to last year’s Z Fold 5. We’ll see what’s new and help you decide if it’s worth the upgrade. Also, stay tuned for a full rundown of all the new AI features. Let’s dive in!

Design and Build

The first thing you’ll notice about the Fold 6 is its design. It’s shorter but wider, with more squared-off corners, making it more compact overall. It’s also thinner and about 14 grams lighter than the Fold 5, bringing its weight to around 239 grams. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra weighs about 232 grams, so the Fold 6 is just a little heavier.

The Fold 6 also boasts an IP48 water and dust resistance rating. This is an upgrade from the Fold 5’s IPX8 rating, which didn’t offer any dust resistance. The “4” in IP48 means it protects against objects larger than one millimeter. So, while it’s not completely dustproof, it’s more dust-resistant than the Fold 5.

In terms of color options, the Fold 5 came in Icy Blue, Phantom Black, and Cream, with two exclusive colors available on Samsung’s website. The Fold 6, on the other hand, comes in Silver Shadow, Pink, and Navy, with Crafted Black and White as exclusive online colors. If you’re interested in picking one up, check out my exclusive affiliate link in the description below. For a limited time, you can get double the storage and $100 in Samsung credit!

The build materials have also seen a slight upgrade. While we don’t have titanium on the Fold 6, we do have enhanced Armor Aluminum for the frame and hinge, which is about 10% stronger than the standard Armor Aluminum used in the Fold 5. The front and back still feature Gorilla Glass Victus 2, but the Fold 6 now includes a new folding thin glass with a protective layer that improves shock absorption.

Display

In terms of size, I prefer the wider aspect ratio of the Fold 6. When unfolded, the display is still 7.6 inches, but the aspect ratio is now 20.9:18 compared to the Fold 5’s 21.6:18. More importantly, the cover display is now 6.3 inches with a 22.1:9 aspect ratio, making it more usable. While it’s still not as wide as devices like the OnePlus Open or Honor Magic V2, it’s definitely a step in the right direction.

The Fold 6’s cover display feels more usable compared to the Fold 5, especially when compared to the Fold 3. Both the cover and main displays feature a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, but the Fold 6’s displays are now brighter, with a peak brightness of up to 2,600 nits, compared to the Fold 5’s 1,750 nits. Samsung didn’t go for a drastic redesign, citing consumer feedback, but I’m glad they made it a bit wider.

Cameras

The cameras on the Fold 6 are relatively unchanged. The front camera is a 10-megapixel selfie punch-out on the cover screen, and there’s a 4-megapixel under-display camera, which still isn’t the best in quality. It’s intended for quick conference calls, but I would have liked to see an improvement.

The rear cameras include a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 50-megapixel primary camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The ultra-wide camera on the Fold 6 has been updated with a new image signal processor, thanks to the new chipset, which should improve images and videos compared to the Fold 5. However, this isn’t a significant jump.

Performance

The Fold 6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, an upgrade from the Fold 5’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This means the Fold 6 has around 41% faster NPU performance, 25% faster GPU performance, and 14% faster CPU performance. It also features a 1.6 times larger vapor chamber for better sustained gaming performance and increased efficiency by about 10%.

Battery life remains the same, with both devices sporting a 4,400mAh battery. Samsung claims the Fold 6 offers around two more hours of video playback compared to the Fold 5. However, other foldable devices feature larger batteries, so I would have liked to see a bigger battery on the Fold 6.

Charging capabilities remain the same, with 25W wired charging, providing a 50% charge in 30 minutes (charger not included). The Fold 6 also supports 15W fast wireless charging and Wireless Powershare at 4.5W, allowing you to charge other devices on the back of the Fold 5 and Fold 6. While other foldables offer faster charging, it would have been nice to see an improvement in this area.

S Pen Support

One unique feature of the Fold 5 and Fold 6 is support for the S Pen. While it’s still limited to the main display, the Fold 6 comes with a slimmer case compared to the Fold 5. Though we don’t have an embedded S Pen, which I would have preferred, it’s nice to have a more compact case. Depending on the deal, this may come free. If you have an S Pen from the Fold 5, it will still work on the Fold 6, but the case won’t fit.

Software and AI Features

The Fold 6 comes with Android 14 out of the box, featuring One UI 6.1.1. Samsung has promised seven generations of OS updates and seven years of security updates. The Fold 5 came with Android 13 but is upgradable to Android 14 with One UI 6.1. Samsung had promised four generations of OS updates for the Fold 5, with security updates valid until August 31, 2028. The Fold 6 will be supported for around three more years than the Fold 5.

The Z Fold 6 introduces a range of Galaxy AI features, now in their second generation. These were first seen on the S24 series. Here are some highlights:

  1. Call Assist: Real-time translation during voice calls, now with new AI noise suppression, and works with third-party apps like WhatsApp.
  2. Chat Assist: Helps rewrite emails and messages by changing the tone.
  3. Interpreter: Live translation of spoken conversations, available in both voice and text. In Flex mode, it uses both the cover and inside screen for conversation mode.
  4. Note Assist: Formats, summarizes, spell-checks, and translates notes.
  5. Transcript Assist: Within Notes, it transforms recordings into transcripts and summarizes them.
  6. Browsing Assist: Summarizes webpages.
  7. Photo Assist: Offers features like removing people or objects and filling in gaps when rotating an image. New features include transforming portraits into different styles and Sketch to Image, which turns doodles into photorealistic results.
  8. Drawing Assist: Transforms simple drawings into art with various styles.

Some of these features are already available on the Fold 5, but the generative image features of the Fold 6 may be exclusive for now. Samsung has stated that the Galaxy AI solutions will be free until the end of 2025. Beyond that, they haven’t announced any plans for charging but will update users in the future.

Pricing and Value

The Fold 6 starts at a higher price compared to the Fold 5, with an increase of around £50 in the UK or $100 in the US. It’s priced at approximately £1,800 in the UK and $1,900 in the US, making it one of the more expensive foldable devices on the market. While the competition might offer better hardware, the Fold 6 has the advantage of Samsung’s extensive experience with foldable software.

Should You Upgrade?

The Fold 5 is still a solid device, featuring many of the AI capabilities introduced in the S24 series. However, Samsung is offering up to $1,200 in trade-in credit for the Fold 5, along with storage upgrades and $100 in Samsung credit through my affiliate link in the description. This might make the upgrade to the Fold 6 worthwhile.

Samsung has just dropped a slew of new gadgets, including new phones, watches, buds, and even a ring! I got my hands on all of them, so let me walk you through everything that’s new.

Galaxy Flip 6

Starting with the Galaxy Flip 6, the most noticeable change is its slightly improved design, featuring elegant ring accents around the camera. It’s also been flattened out, giving it a sleeker look and a more premium feel, reminiscent of the S24 Ultra. Holding it feels great thanks to its sharper edges.

When you open it up, you’ll see that the main screen has also received an upgrade. The crease is now less noticeable, making it one of the best foldable screens Samsung has ever made. The screen can reach up to 2,600 nits in brightness, making it one of the brightest foldables in the world.

Under the hood, the Flip 6 has some exciting new AI features. One standout is the Portrait Studio, which offers four different art styles for your selfies. The AI scans your face and generates portraits in the style you pick. It works with any portrait picture, so you can create cool profile pictures or stickers of your friends and family.

Another fun feature is the Sketch to Image tool in the side panel. You can draw something—like my attempt at a cat—and the AI will generate an artwork that looks surprisingly good. It even knew my doodle was a cat without any prompt!

The Compose feature is another useful addition. It helps you write anything by choosing the type of tone you want—professional, casual, or polite. Just click generate, and the Flip 6 will create a tailored message for you. The Interpreter feature now works with the main cover screen, translating spoken words into text for easy communication.

The cover screen itself got an upgrade with Live Interactive Wallpapers that react to your movements or touch. The camera on the Flip 6 is now a whopping 50 megapixels, a significant improvement from the 12 megapixels on the Flip 5. This makes it perfect for selfies and group shots.

Galaxy Fold 6

Moving on to the Galaxy Fold 6, I was impressed by its new squared-off design. The camera design looks more premium with new accents around it. The Fold 6 is also lighter, almost as light as the S24 Ultra, making it comfortable to hold.

The cover screen is slightly larger and more proportional. Inside, the screen is wider and shorter, almost square, and reaches the same 2,600 nits of brightness. The crease is still noticeable, but the screen’s overall quality is a step up.

The Fold 6 shares many features with the Flip 6 but integrates them better thanks to the S Pen. The Sketch to Image feature is enhanced by the larger screen and the S Pen, making it easier to create detailed drawings. You can even use the S Pen to add elements to photos, which the AI will incorporate into your image.

Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch 7

Next, we have the new watches. The Galaxy Watch 7 is quite similar to its predecessors, with minimal updates. But the Galaxy Watch Ultra is something entirely new. It features a rugged design with an orange accent color, which is highly visible and perfect for outdoor activities. The watch is made of titanium, making it super tough.

The Ultra comes with a new customizable action button, a unique watch face, and a night mode that turns the display red to be easier on the eyes. It also has an adjustable multiport mode, allowing you to add and adjust the distance for up to three different sports. Plus, all the pinch gestures from the Watch 7 are included.

Interestingly, the Watch Ultra replaces the Watch Classic and Watch Pro. It comes in three frame colors, is water-resistant up to 100 meters, and has a brightness of 3,000 nits. It’s also cheaper than the Apple Watch Ultra, making it a compelling option.

Galaxy Ring

Now, let’s talk about the Galaxy Ring. This sleek device comes in a glossy see-through case and is made from titanium. It charges wirelessly and lasts around seven days per charge. The case can be charged via USB-C or wirelessly, even using your phone’s Wireless PowerShare feature.

The ring is packed with sensors to track your sleep, heart rate, temperature, and exercises. It also has gestures, allowing you to pinch to turn off an alarm or snap a picture with your phone’s camera. The Find My Ring feature lets you track it if it gets lost, making it the only health ring with this capability.

The ring comes in nine sizes and three colors—gold, black, and silver. Pairing it with a Galaxy watch saves battery life and provides more accurate tracking data. It’s thin and comfortable, so you quickly forget you’re wearing it.

Galaxy Buds 3 Pro

Finally, we have the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. These have been completely redesigned, from the case to the earbuds themselves. The new design includes a clear lid and colored blades on the earbuds, which light up and indicate battery percentage.

The sound quality is something I need to test further, but they come with features like active noise cancellation, intelligent sound, and a new AI interpreter for real-time language translation. They also support wireless charging and have about six hours of continuous playtime.

Conclusion

Samsung’s new lineup is packed with exciting features and improvements. The Galaxy Flip 6 and Fold 6 bring refined designs and innovative AI tools. The Watch Ultra stands out with its rugged design and customizable features. The Galaxy Ring offers a sleek, sensor-packed experience without a subscription. The Buds 3 Pro introduce a fresh design and new capabilities.

Samsung Fold 6 and Flip 6 – The Good and The Bad

Samsung recently hosted an event to unveil a slew of new hardware, including two new phones: the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Fold 6. In addition to these smartphones, they also introduced the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro earbuds and the Galaxy Watch Ultra. While the hardware is undeniably impressive, a significant portion of the event focused on AI features, which left some of us underwhelmed. Let’s dive into the hardware first and see what’s new and noteworthy.

Galaxy Z Flip 6: A Refined Classic

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 comes in four stunning colors: Blue, Mint, Yellow, and Silver Shadow. Despite the Silver Shadow’s titanium-like appearance, it remains an aluminum device. The new Flip 6 boasts three significant hardware upgrades over its predecessor:

  1. Increased RAM: The base model now features 12GB of RAM, up from the previous 8GB. This improvement ensures smoother multitasking and better overall performance.
  2. Larger Battery: The battery capacity has been bumped up to 4,000mAh, providing longer usage between charges.
  3. Enhanced Camera: The main camera now uses a 50-megapixel sensor, while the ultrawide lens retains the same sensor as the previous generation.

The screen sizes remain unchanged, with both the inner and outer displays staying the same as before. Similarly, the weight and dimensions are almost identical to the Flip 5, with the Flip 6 being slightly thinner but not noticeably so. Aesthetically, the Flip 6 doesn’t deviate much from its predecessor, maintaining its sleek and compact design.

Galaxy Fold 6: A New Dimension

The Galaxy Fold 6 introduces three new colors: Silver Shadow, Pink, and Navy. This year’s Fold is thinner, lighter, shorter, and wider, leading to new screen aspect ratios. The front screen is slightly larger at 6.3 inches, while the main inner screen remains 7.6 inches but with a broader aspect ratio.

Despite these changes, the Fold 6 retains the same camera hardware, featuring a 50-megapixel GM3 sensor. The camera bump now includes a series of concentric rings around each lens, adding a touch of elegance but also a strange sharpness that can be felt when touched. The Fold 6 still packs 12GB of RAM and a 4,400mAh battery. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, offering improved performance, particularly in GPU tasks, making it an excellent choice for those seeking high performance.

Galaxy Buds 3 Pro: A Surprising Change

The Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro mark a significant departure from Samsung’s traditional design language. Since 2016, Samsung’s wireless earbuds have been known for their compact, stemless design, a stark contrast to Apple’s AirPods. However, the new Galaxy Buds 3 come with stems, making them look more like AirPods.

In my brief time with the Buds 3, I found that controlling them with the stems was more precise than tapping the sides of the previous buds. The Buds 3 Pro, in particular, features a light strip that indicates battery status and color-coded markings for easier placement in the case. Despite the design change, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro sounded fantastic, outperforming the Apple AirPods Pro 2 in my short listening test.

Galaxy Watch Ultra: A Rugged Companion

The new Galaxy Watch 7 is impressive, but the Galaxy Watch Ultra steals the show. Built to be rugged, it features a longer battery life and a titanium body, much like the Apple Watch Ultra. The Watch Ultra has a more squarish shape, deviating from Samsung’s usual round watch design. The white model, in particular, looks striking with its white strap and casing.

The Watch Ultra includes an orange-accented quick button, which, during my testing, only launched workouts. The bezel doesn’t rotate but has markings that might suggest otherwise. The watch face has a technical look, and the device is water-resistant up to 100 meters, capable of operating in extreme temperatures and altitudes, and includes a siren for emergencies. However, it lacks a depth sensor, which is surprising for a watch designed for rugged use.

AI Features: Underwhelming Innovations

Samsung spent a lot of time discussing AI features, which, in my opinion, didn’t live up to the hype. Earlier this year, Samsung introduced Galaxy AI with the launch of the S24 series. This included AI photo editing tools, live translation, text summarization, and more. While these features are fun and useful, none of them are essential.

At the recent event, Samsung showcased new AI tools, including a sketch-to-image feature where you can draw something, and Galaxy AI generates an image. Although the idea is cool, the execution is slow, and the results are underwhelming. Another feature allows AI to assist with writing, checking grammar and spelling, and altering writing styles. While useful, these tools aren’t groundbreaking and have been seen on other platforms.

Samsung’s AI storytelling tool, which generates stories based on prompts, feels more like a tech demo than a practical feature. Compared to Apple’s upcoming intelligence product, which promises deep integration and real utility, Samsung’s AI features seem fragmented and lacking a cohesive vision.

Conclusion: Great Hardware, Questionable Software

Samsung has once again delivered impressive hardware with the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Fold 6, Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, and Galaxy Watch Ultra. However, the AI features leave much to be desired. As always, Samsung’s hardware innovations are top-notch, but the software doesn’t seem to match up.

Hey everyone! The wait is almost over—just two months until Tim Cook steps onto the stage, says “Good morning,” and reveals the highly anticipated iPhone 16 lineup. This year’s release promises a slew of exciting new features, particularly with the integration of Apple Intelligence, bringing AI to the iPhone in significant ways. In this video, I’ll walk you through 10 major leak updates that will help you decide if the iPhone 16 is worth the wait. Spoiler alert: I think it definitely is! With the new A18 chips and other enhancements, this iPhone is shaping up to be a game-changer. But before diving into the technical details, let’s jump right into leak update number one.

Leak Update #1: Revolutionary Battery Design

We’ve just received confirmation from multiple sources, including Ming-Chi Kuo, that the iPhone 16 will feature a completely redesigned battery. This is one of the most significant changes we’ve ever seen in an iPhone. The new battery design includes a stainless steel housing, similar to what Apple did with the Apple Watch, which increased battery capacity without making the device bigger. The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to have a 3577 mAh battery, which is a 99.2% increase in capacity, while the Pro Max will have a 4747 mAh battery, marking a 6.89% increase. Additionally, these new batteries will be up to 10% denser, allowing Apple to pack more power into a smaller space.

Leak Update #2: Brighter Displays

The iPhone 16 Pro models will feature a 20% brighter display, boasting up to 1200 nits of standard brightness compared to the current 1000 nits. Initially, we thought these models would come with the M13 display material, as used in the Samsung S24 Ultra. However, a recent leak from ET News suggests that Apple might skip the M13 and go straight to the M14, which is even more advanced. This could mean even better display performance, and we hope it includes the same anti-reflective coating found on the S24 Ultra.

Leak Update #3: Thinner Bezels

Apple is breaking all records with the iPhone 16 Pro models by significantly reducing bezel thickness. The iPhone 16 Pro will shrink from 1.71 mm to 1.2 mm, while the Pro Max will go from 1.55 mm to an astounding 1.15 mm—the thinnest bezels on any smartphone in the world. This is made possible by new technology that allows Apple to fold the bottom bezel of the display more efficiently.

Leak Update #4: Unified A18 Chips

A major leak from Apple’s backend code revealed that the entire iPhone 16 lineup will feature the same chip identifier, indicating a unified A18 chip for all models. This is a departure from Apple’s usual practice of using different chips for regular and Pro models. The A18 chips will be based on the second-gen 3nm N3E node, with lower-quality chips branded as regular A18 and higher-performing chips as A18 Pro. This move aligns with leaks suggesting that all iPhone 16 models will come with 8GB of RAM to support new Apple Intelligence AI features.

Leak Update #5: Redesigned MagSafe Ring

New iPhone 16 molds reveal a redesign of the MagSafe ring, although compatibility with existing accessories will remain unchanged. This update likely points to improved technology behind the MagSafe ring, possibly increasing charging speeds to 20W from the current 15W.

Leak Update #6: Samsung Camera Sensor

For the first time, the iPhone might feature a Samsung camera sensor. This shift is due to Sony’s production issues last year, which almost delayed the iPhone launch. Samsung’s new wafer-to-wafer hybrid bonding technology promises a smaller sensor with increased data transfer speeds, likely resulting in a 48-megapixel main camera for the iPhone 16.

Leak Update #7: Upgraded Ultra-Wide Camera

One of the most exciting upgrades is the 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera on the iPhone 16 Pro models. The current 12-megapixel sensor struggles in low light, but the new sensor will significantly improve quality, using pixel binning to enhance low-light performance.

Leak Update #8: Polished Titanium Finish

The iPhone 16 Pro models will feature polished titanium instead of the current brushed finish. This change will give the Pro models a more premium feel, differentiating them from the less expensive aluminum models. Expected colors include Space Black and Rose Titanium.

Leak Update #9: Dimension Changes

Leaked dimensions from Universe Ice and Instant Digital show slight changes in the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max sizes. The iPhone 16 Pro will be 8.25 mm thick, 3 mm taller, 0.85 mm wider, and 3.93 mm larger in display size. It will also be 3.74% heavier. The Pro Max will be 0.01 mm thicker, 3.1 mm taller, 0.88 mm wider, and 4.08 mm larger in display size, with only a 1.8% increase in weight.

Leak Update #10: New Battery Replacement Method

Apple plans to introduce a new battery replacement method with the iPhone 16, making it easier for users to replace their own batteries. The new stainless steel housing will make the batteries safer and less prone to swelling, aligning with EU regulations.

iPhone 16 New CONFIRMED Leaks! GOOD News!

Hello everyone! Today, we’re diving into some fantastic news about the upcoming iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. As we edge closer to the anticipated September 2024 release date, let’s explore some new confirmed leaks straight from Apple and other features they’re working on.

Exciting Confirmations and Design Updates

Let’s start with what’s confirmed because it’s genuinely fascinating. For a while now, we’ve seen the final designs of both models. This year, the iPhone 16 is getting vertically stacked cameras and some fun new colors. The overall rounded edges and materials are pretty much the same. While these updates do enhance the iPhone 16’s design, they’re not the major refresh that many people hoped for this year. The same goes for the iPhone 16 Pros. The screens are getting slightly larger, and the bezels are shrinking, but the back looks almost identical to every iPhone since 2019. Apple might be making the titanium a bit more reflective, bringing back the rose gold color, and adding a new button below the power switch called the capture button for taking photos and videos. However, even with all these tweaks, the iPhone 16 Pro just doesn’t look that new.

Marketing and AI Features

This has left many wondering how Apple will market these phones. Why buy the new iPhone instead of last year’s model? The answer lies in a bunch of new AI features. At WWDC 2024, Apple teased their AI strategy with generative emojis, custom image and text generation, and a new version of Siri. According to a new leak, this is just the beginning. Confirmed by Apple in leaked code, every iPhone 16, from the regular to the Pro models, will feature the A18 chip.

If this were a typical year, a new chip wouldn’t be big news. But this isn’t a typical year. The A18 chip in the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro is a game-changer. For months, we’ve heard rumors about the A18 chip being significantly more efficient and faster, with a majorly upgraded neural engine dedicated to specific AI tasks. If you were excited about the features Apple announced at WWDC, just wait until you see what they have in store for the iPhone 16.

Consistent Performance Across Models

Apple wants to offer most of these AI features on every iPhone 16 model. They don’t want to put the new chip only in the Pro models, as they’ve done since 2022. Instead, they’re putting the A18 in all models, ensuring a consistent performance level across the board. But here’s where it gets even more interesting. Apple mentioned five iPhone models that will feature the A18 chip. We can account for four: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. What’s this fifth model?

The iPhone SE 4

I believe we have confirmation that the iPhone SE 4, set to release in Spring 2025, will also get the A18 chip. This means it will have all of Apple’s latest AI features. Rumors about the iPhone SE 4 have been swirling for years. It’s expected to be a major redesign with an iPhone 14-style design, a notch, flat sides, aluminum, and a switch to USB-C, completing Apple’s transition to USB-C ports across all products.

Exciting Sponsorship from Ugreen

With USB-C, you want to charge as fast as possible. That’s why I’m excited to share today’s video sponsor, Ugreen. They have a new Nexode 160W charger with three USB-C ports and a USB-A port. You can fast charge your laptop, tablet, and phone simultaneously, plus a fourth device. The latest power delivery 3.1 protocol allows you to fast charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro to 50% in just 27 minutes. Despite its power, it’s smaller than Apple’s 140W charger and has more ports. Ugreen also offers a 2-in-1 magnetic foldable charging station with 15W wireless charging speeds, perfect for those on the go. Check out the links in the description to grab these fantastic accessories. Thanks, Ugreen, for sponsoring this video.

Back to the iPhone 16

I’m beyond excited for the iPhone SE 4, which promises to be the best value smartphone globally. But let’s get back to this year’s iPhone 16 lineup. One of the first new features is MagSafe 2.0. According to leaks, Apple is redesigning the MagSafe system to be thinner and smaller, though the overall design remains the same. This change makes room for other components beneath it, potentially improving iPhone battery life.

Battery Innovations

2024 might finally be the year Apple takes battery life seriously again. New reports suggest Apple is planning its biggest battery redesign ever by switching from rubberized coating to metal plating. This change could increase battery density by 5-10%, likely in the Pro Max model. Moreover, this redesign helps Apple comply with upcoming EU regulations requiring more easily user-replaceable batteries by 2027. The new metal-plated battery will include a shock displacement system for easier removal, a significant improvement for users and regulators alike.

Pro Max Model Enhancements

Rumors indicate these changes will result in the longest battery life ever on a Pro Max-sized iPhone. The iPhone 16 Pro Max might also receive special camera upgrades, exclusive to the model. This could include a better Sony camera sensor with a stacked design for improved performance, a 14-bit analog-to-digital converter for higher quality image data, and digital gain control for better dynamic range and noise control. These enhancements could make the Pro Max the best camera phone on the market.

Display and Wi-Fi Improvements

Another highlight of the Pro iPhones this year is their slightly larger displays. New details suggest these screens will use Samsung’s latest M14 panels, offering increased longevity and brightness. The iPhone 16 Pro screens are rumored to reach up to 1,220 nits of brightness, a 20% improvement over last year.

Additionally, all iPhone 16 models will support the newest Wi-Fi 7 standard. Compared to Wi-Fi 6 and 6E, Wi-Fi 7 offers more efficiency, lower latency, and the capacity to support more devices simultaneously.

Wrapping Up

I want to thank Cody and Artif Effects for the incredible renders featured in this video. They bring these rumors and leaks to life with their outstanding work, so be sure to follow them for more. As we count down the days to the iPhone 16 release, I’m getting more hyped. With just two months to go until September, there’s so much to look forward to.

If you’re excited about the iPhone 16 and don’t want to miss any future updates, hit that subscribe button. I’ve been Sam, and I hope you’re doing great. See you in the next one! Bye-bye.

Hey, what’s up, y’all? MKBHD here. Today, Samsung hosted their anticipated summer Unpacked event in July, revealing two new phones and three new wearable devices. Well, it’s actually more than that if you count the different sizes, but there’s a lot to unpack. I had the chance to go hands-on with all of it, so here are my first impressions.

The New Foldables: Samsung Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6

Let’s kick things off with the stars of the show: the new foldable phones. This year, Samsung introduced the Z Flip 6 and the Z Fold 6. At first glance, these phones might seem like minor iterations on last year’s models, but there’s more beneath the surface.

Samsung Z Fold 6

The Fold 6 closely resembles its predecessor, the Fold 5. However, Samsung has made some subtle yet significant changes. The sides are more squared, the camera housing has a refreshed look, and the bezels are slightly thinner, making the cover screen more usable. Both screens now reach up to 2,600 nits, providing better visibility in bright light. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Fold 6 comes in new colors and features a 60% larger vapor chamber for improved cooling.

One of the notable updates is the enhanced hinge, which is more durable and less prone to creasing. The under-screen camera remains, but the overall design feels more refined. Samsung’s focus this year seems to be on integrating advanced AI features. The new Galaxy AI section in the settings app highlights features like Call Assist, Note Assist, and Transcript Assist, which can be genuinely useful.

Samsung Z Flip 6

Similarly, the Z Flip 6 follows the same design philosophy as the Z Fold 6. It boasts the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, squared-up sides, and a slightly refreshed design. The camera setup now includes a 50-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, borrowed from the base S24. The battery has been increased from 3,700 to 4,000 mAh, promising better longevity. The inside screen also reaches 2,600 nits, and there’s a wider variety of widgets for the outside screen, making it more functional.

Enhanced AI Features

Samsung’s new AI features are at the forefront of these devices. Similar to Apple’s recent updates, Samsung has grouped all AI functionalities under the Galaxy AI banner. This includes features like Call Assist, which helps manage calls, and Note Assist, which summarizes notes. The AI also extends to the browser, offering summarizations of web pages and generative fills for photos.

Drawing Assist is another interesting addition. It can transform your sketches into different art styles within Samsung Notes, providing a fun and creative outlet for users. These AI enhancements aim to make everyday tasks more efficient and engaging.

Price and Availability

The Z Flip 6 starts at $1,099, while the Z Fold 6 is priced at $1,899, both $100 more than their predecessors. While the price hike might be a deterrent for some, the advanced features and improvements could justify the cost for tech enthusiasts.

New Wearables: Galaxy Watch 7, Watch 7 Ultra, Buds Pro, and Smart Ring

Samsung also unveiled new wearables that have garnered a lot of attention. The Galaxy Watch 7 series, Buds Pro, and a new smart ring are set to compete with other high-end wearables on the market.

Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch 7 Ultra

The Galaxy Watch 7 gets a modest refresh, starting at $299 for the 40-millimeter model. The standout addition is the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra. This new entry features a titanium body, sapphire crystal display, and a beefier build to accommodate a 590 mAh battery. It’s water-resistant up to 100 meters and includes dual-frequency GPS. The new Quick Button (akin to Apple’s Action Button) is a customizable feature that can start workouts or other activities.

Priced at $650, the Watch 7 Ultra is positioned against Apple’s Watch Ultra, which retails for $800. Samsung’s new Energy Score compiles health metrics into a single score, providing a comprehensive overview of your well-being.

Galaxy Buds Pro and Buds 3

The Galaxy Buds Pro and Buds 3 also saw updates. The Buds Pro, priced at $249, include features like adaptive noise cancellation and Ambient mode. They have a new design with blade lights indicating different modes. The Buds 3, priced at $179, offer a more basic experience but still include essential features for a high-quality audio experience.

Samsung Smart Ring

Finally, Samsung introduced their much-anticipated smart ring. Designed for 24/7 fitness tracking, the ring monitors heart rate, skin temperature, and other metrics. It’s water-resistant up to 100 meters and boasts a seven-day battery life. The charging case lights up to show the charging status, which is a nice touch. The ring, priced at $399, does not require a subscription, unlike the Oura Ring.

Final Thoughts

Samsung’s latest offerings continue to push the boundaries of technology. The new foldables, enhanced AI features, and innovative wearables are impressive. While the prices have increased, the improvements and new features could make them worthwhile for many users.

M4 iPad Pro – TOP 5 Things You SHOULD KNO

We’re here to dive into the M4 iPad Pro, Apple’s latest powerhouse. It’s sleek, it’s powerful, and yes, it’s expensive. In this video, we’re breaking down everything you need to know about the M4 iPad Pro—from the beastly chip to the display and even the keyboard. By the end, you’ll know if it’s a true pro tool or just another pricey upgrade. Stick around for some surprising insights and real-world performance tests that you won’t want to miss. Let’s get started!

1. The M4 Chip: A Game Changer

Starting with the heart of this device, the M4 chip is an absolute beast. Apple skipped the M3 to focus on AI performance, and it shows. This chip is lightning fast, handling demanding tasks like video editing, 3D rendering, and complex music production with ease. But it’s not just about raw speed—the M4’s neural engine is designed for AI workloads, opening the door to a new world of AI-powered apps and features. We’re already seeing this in apps like Procreate, where you can generate complex visual effects in seconds.

2. Dual-Layer OLED Display: Stunning Visuals

Next, let’s talk about the new dual-layer OLED display. It’s undeniably gorgeous, boasting perfect blacks, vibrant colors, and an eye-searing 1600 nits of peak brightness. HDR content looks absolutely stunning. But is it a necessary upgrade if you already own an M2 iPad Pro with its mini-LED display? The difference might not be as dramatic as you’d expect. The M2 screen is still excellent, and the jump isn’t as noticeable as the leap from LCD to OLED on iPhones. That being said, the OLED’s superior contrast and deeper blacks do make a difference, especially in dark environments. And the optional Nano-texture glass, while pricey, is a game changer for reducing glare in bright conditions.

3. Design and Portability: Thin and Light

In terms of design, the M4 iPad Pro is ridiculously thin and light. Apple even claims it’s their thinnest device ever. But is that really necessary for a device that’s primarily used on a desk with a keyboard? The lighter weight is a welcome improvement, though. It makes the iPad Pro much more comfortable to hold, especially the larger 13-inch models. Apple has also relocated the front-facing camera to the landscape edge, which is a smart move for video calls.

4. Performance and Content Creation

When it comes to content creation, this iPad is a powerhouse. It can handle 4K 60fps ProRes video, complex 3D renders, and multi-track music production without breaking a sweat. Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro have been redesigned for touch, and the new live multi-cam feature is a game changer for videographers. However, there is one downside—Apple has removed the ultra-wide rear camera. While most users won’t miss it, it’s a step back for those who occasionally use it for wider shots.

5. Accessories: The Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro

In terms of accessorization, Apple’s new Magic Keyboard is a major upgrade. With a premium aluminum build, a full function row, and a larger trackpad, it’s a fantastic addition. But it’s also expensive, coming in at $349 for the 13-inch model. The Apple Pencil Pro gets haptic feedback, customizable squeeze gestures, and a new rolling gesture. It’s the best stylus on the market, but it’s an additional $129.

The Elephant in the Room: iPadOS

Here’s the elephant in the room: iPadOS. While it has improved, it still has limitations that prevent the iPad Pro from being a true laptop replacement for some users. Multitasking has gotten better with Stage Manager, but it can still be clunky. File management is improved but not as intuitive as on a Mac, and certain pro features like background tasks and utility apps are still missing. For some users, these limitations won’t matter, but if you’re a power user who needs a fully-fledged desktop experience, the iPad Pro might not be enough.

Storage and Connectivity

Let’s talk about storage. The base iPad Pro starts with 256GB of storage, with up to 2TB available as an upgrade. The 1TB and 2TB models have more RAM than the 256GB and 512GB options. There is a single Thunderbolt USB-C port used for charging and connecting Thunderbolt peripherals, and it offers fast data transfer up to 40Gbps. You can use up to one external display with 6K resolution at 60Hz with the iPad Pro.

Camera and Battery Life

Coming to the camera, there’s a 12MP front-facing camera that’s been moved to the landscape side of the iPad, so it’s in the correct orientation for video calls when the iPad is used with a keyboard. The camera supports Center Stage and other FaceTime features. There is a single-lens 12MP rear camera, plus a LiDAR scanner for augmented reality experiences and an updated flash. Apple has removed the ultra-wide camera that was available on the prior generation model.

Did anybody say all-day battery life? Both iPad Pro models offer up to 10 hours of battery life when surfing the web or watching video. Wi-Fi + Cellular models offer up to 9 hours of battery life when surfing the web using 5G connectivity. The 11-inch iPad Pro is equipped with a 31.2Wh battery, while the 13-inch iPad Pro is equipped with a 38.9Wh battery.

Additional Features

Other features include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support, sub-6GHz 5G for cellular models, four speakers, and four microphones. Now, the big question: is it worth your money? The M4 iPad Pro is undeniably the most powerful, capable tablet on the market. It’s a content creation beast, a productivity powerhouse, and a joy to use. But it’s also expensive. If you already own an M2 iPad Pro, the upgrade might not be worth it unless you absolutely need the latest and greatest tech. But if you’re coming from an older iPad Pro or a different tablet altogether, the M4 iPad Pro is a fantastic option. It’s a glimpse into the future of mobile computing and sure to impress.

I Tested Every New Samsung Product

Samsung has just launched a bucket load of new products. There’s new folding phones, new earphones, new watches, including, for the first time ever, a Watch Ultra. And the thing that I’ve been most excited about: the Galaxy Ring. I’ve just been hands-on with all of it, so here’s what’s good and what’s less good.

There are two new phones, the Z Flip 6 and the Z Fold 6. I have to say, I have a lot of respect for this Flip because it is a design improvement. Compared to the last Flip, it looks smarter from every angle, feels cleaner thanks to the matte finish on the sides, and the camera rings now match the color of the body. The hinge protrudes out less, and crucially, the display crease on the inside is less noticeable. The screen also has a new layer that makes it more impact-resistant, plus a new coating to reduce scratches and fingerprints. Major key feature if that works out over time. But the thing I’m really happy about is that the design is not the focus here—all the best improvements are under the hood.

It’s got the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, now with, for the first time ever on a flip phone, a vapor chamber which gets heat away from that chip to keep it fast. It’s got improved speakers, 12GB of RAM by default instead of last year’s 8GB, a bigger 4,000 mAh battery instead of 3,700, and an inner screen that now goes up to 2,600 nits of brightness compared to 1,750. These are substantial jumps. The ultra-wide camera has been upgraded slightly with a bigger sensor, but the main camera has been upgraded majorly. It is now 50 megapixels after having been 12 for far too long, and it’s much better for it. It’s good enough now that even without any separate dedicated zoom camera, you can still zoom in 10 times and get a sharp output.

There are a couple of strange features that accompany those improvements, like a camcorder mode which nudges all the controls to the other side of the screen for your thumb. But I don’t understand why anyone would want to do this—this isn’t a 90s camcorder, and that’s a good thing. The cameras can now also auto-zoom while taking photos using your front screen, but the feature is a little bit slow to be useful. The important thing is that the cameras are finally not just passable on the Z Flips but actually good.

Another interesting tidbit I found out during my briefing was that Z Flip users change their wallpaper more times than any other type of phone user, which I guess is why Samsung is leaning into a few funky cosmetic extras too, like interactive wallpapers that you can tilt, flip, and touch. I don’t really see the appeal beyond the first 10 minutes, though. There are ambient photos, which means whatever wallpaper you apply to your cover screen, you can mirror the current time of day and weather conditions onto it. That I might actually use. They’re also introducing the Flip Suit 2.0 cases, which can have LEDs embedded inside the case that draw power from the phone to light up when notifications come in. I wouldn’t personally buy one, but I sure enjoyed seeing it.

The final thing though, and the thing that I wasn’t expecting to see coming into this, is that these folding phones are also where Samsung is showing off their next-gen Galaxy AI. It’s actually improving rather quickly. There are a couple of bits I’m not so sure about, like when someone messages you, now you get smart suggested replies on your cover screen. The phone looks at the last seven messages sent to understand the tone of the conversation and then serves you up your options. I need to test it more thoroughly to see if it actually nails human tone, because that’s typically a key failing point, but the idea is solid.

There’s portrait studio photo editing, which lets you use a photo that you’ve taken with a person in it, and then AI turns that person’s face into a highly stylized depiction. It does work quite well, but I don’t know what I would use it for. It would be cool if it applied the effect to the entire image and not just your face, but as it stands, all I can think of is you could maybe use it to generate some slightly uncanny valley alternative profile pictures of yourself. The live translation feature, you know, the one we saw earlier this year when Samsung announced Galaxy AI, that wasn’t very good—that is noticeably better here. These new phones are now starting with an AI that has access to an improved language pack, improved microphones that can pick up your voice better, and improved AI noise suppression that lets those microphones focus just on what you’re saying. I’m not sure which of these ingredients is making the most difference, but in my early testing, the feature does seem to work quite a bit better and faster than it did at launch. Oh yeah, and it also now works on third-party apps, so you can have a live translation call on WhatsApp. But there’s an extra twist now because you can also have that translation experience while in the same room as another person, thanks to an updated interpreter mode which lets you use both screens at the same time, so each person can only see their own language. It’s still not 100% there with the translation, but I can feel it creeping closer. Until ChatGPT’s real-time translation feature fully rolls out, this is probably the best implementation of it that I’ve ever seen.

And what I’m pretty happy about is that the Flip 6 is all of these things and, at least here in the UK, without going up in price. It’s still £1,149. There are actually a few more AI features, but I’ll show you the rest on the Fold 6, because this phone is interesting for the opposite reason—it’s much less about internal improvements but has had a lot more work done to the exterior, with sadly also a £50 price bump versus last year. So, it’s immediately noticeably lighter at 239g, and it comes with this new titanium frame which makes it only 7g heavier than the non-folding S24 Ultra. It’s thinner, 5.6mm when it’s open—the S24 Ultra is 8.6mm for context. They’ve made it shorter and wider, which in my books are actually both perks, so you can actually reach the top of the phone and also feel like you have a more natural ratio to type and scroll pages with on the cover screen. It just looks so much neater from the front—the squared edges, the slimmer even borders, the fact that those borders actually follow the natural curve of the device. And this Fold is actually where you particularly notice the more compact hinge. You could probably fool just about anyone at this point into thinking this is a normal non-folding flagship phone.

Now, there are also spec bumps here: again, the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip with a 1.6 times larger vapor chamber than the last gen. The screens are super bright, both inside and outside, going up to 2,600 nits. This phone gets the same slight upgrade to its ultra-wide camera. But the AI features are the most interesting actually, and almost all of these should come to most recent Samsung phones too. There’s a new smart select, which is kind of like taking a screenshot but a screenshot of the specific thing that you’re looking at without having to manually drag four corners and crop the screenshot yourself. You can instant copy just the thing you want on any page, and it is good. Do you remember the circle to search feature? That’s improving too. It now lets you circle QR codes to go straight to the link, or equations to get not just the answer actually but also the entire methodology. RIP college professors. Oh, and then sketch to image is really wacky. You scribble something down, you specify a style of finish, and it manages to produce a result that feels weirdly human-like. It does neaten up everything you do, it applies a really convincing artistic effect, but it also retains just enough of your base image to still make it feel like you made that. It’s one of those features that actually makes my head start to spin with all the possibilities. Like sometimes when we make videos, I have a really specific vision of the graphic that I want to show to visualize the point that I’m making. This could actually allow me to make that graphic myself. And you can also sketch to image on top of an existing image, and this, I think, has a very high ceiling. But I think the actual feature itself needs a little bit more cooking. The idea is that if you decide you want a pair of glasses, or a cool tie, or some devil horns in an image, you just sketch them in, and the phone then literally creates those objects within your scene using AI to factor in the lighting and the shadows and the objects in the real photo. Sometimes it was breathtaking, and I was so impressed how the objects don’t look like cheap little stickers slapped on top of your photo but full-resolution objects baked inside of them. But then other times it was fiddly and also produced some pretty weird-looking things that didn’t really make sense in the context of that image.

Aside from all that, Samsung have also said that the crease on the inside screen of both this and the Flip 6 is now down to just 100 microns instead of 240, but it doesn’t feel like that much of a difference to me. It’s definitely not the best phone for this that you can get right now, and it does bug me that the inner camera still looks like it’s genuinely VGA quality and that there’s still no way to store the S Pen inside of the phone like you can
